Wednesday walk through a forest

Last week, there was not much sun to enjoy, so I decided to take a walk through a close by forest, which for some reason I have not yet visited before.

Because I think that the clouds would be less of an impact in the forest than in a more open field. Of course, if you have some rays of sun shining through the trees, it can be amazing, but for finding a nice spot to walk, this seemed like an ideal solution.

Also it forced me to look a bit different, in grasslands or more open spaces, the thing you want to photograph is or the overview, or most of time there is one feature with a lot of space around it.

And in the forest there can be other plants around or trees that block the right view, so it was a new exercise for me to find some shots that I liked.

Luckily I love how the structure of dead wood / fallen down trees look. And just walking through forest was great.

There was more to explore than I had time for this time and wandering through it took longer than expected, I needed to take quite a shortcut to be back in time for sunset.

One one end of the forest there was a field, which normally is included in the route, but I had to skip for now. This field, just like the rest, had more history than I knew. There should be old cart tracks and a tank ditch. But that is for next time to discover.

This was a fallen over tree. And I just loved how it looked.

And like I said, I like the structure of dead wood and how it looks.

Something I did not photograph is a open field in center of the forest, with a little hill on one side. What I did read on the end of my walk, is that they think this place was used to hang people in the middle ages.

I really enjoyed the walk, and I will certainly go back to the forest.

I think I need to go at least two times, one time when the sun is shining, to also explore field and see how the forest looks with sun rays shining through it

And another time after a big rain shower. Because plants and trees covered in water droplets can look amazing.

That is I think all I can tell you for now about this forest and walk of around two hours, including time to take pictures. So now will follow some more pictures I took

And I hope you all enjoy the pictures I took during it

It really was a super relaxing ride with lots of things to see. It looks like movie scenery!
