BYD launches Seagull as Dolphin Mini in Brazil [EN/PT-BR]

The largest electric car manufacturer has just launched its cheapest car in Brazil. The compact Seagull, which costs around R$50,000 in China, will be imported for a price of R$115,800, above the expectations of the Brazilian public who were waiting for a car in the same price range as the Renault Kwid E-Tech.

Due to projections that the car would cost less than R$100,000, many competitors had already adjusted the price downwards, as was the case with the electric Kwid, which cost R$123,490 and now costs R$99,990, and the JAC e- JS1, which cost R$135,900 and now costs R$126,900.

In relation to electric competitors, the BYD Dolphin Mini is actually much more attractive due to both the technology and the design of the car. However, the price ended up being a little higher than expected, since in China it costs less than half the price sold in Brazil.

For now, the BYD compact will only have four seats and, like other electric cars, it does not come with a spare tire, just a repair kit. By the way, replacing tires is one of the concerns of the Brazilian public, as the model is still not easily found in the country.

For those looking for a more economical car, the Dolphin Mini has a range of 280 kilometers on a full battery charge, which is the main attraction for drivers who travel daily, such as those who do Uber and 99 or sales representatives.

As for the more affordable combustion cars, we still have the Renault Kwid and the Fiat Mobi, both costing R$69,990, the Citroën C3 for R$72,990 and the Peugeot 208 for R$75,990, while Fiat Argo, Hyundai HB20, Renault Stepway , Chevrolet Onix and Volkswagen Polo Track exceed eighty thousand reais.

What compact electric vehicles are not yet competitive with is the internal space and trunk size and the spare parts distribution network. Something that BYD intends to improve with the establishment of a factory in Brazil in Camaçari, Bahia, in the former Ford factory, which stopped producing cars in the country.

A maior fabricante de carros elétricos acaba de lançar seu carro mais barato no Brasil. O compacto Seagull, que custa em torno de 50 mil reais na China, será importado pelo preço de R$115.800, muito acima da expectativa do público brasileiro que estava aguardando por um carro na mesma faixa de preço do Renault Kwid E-Tech.

Com relação aos concorrentes elétricos, realmente o BYD Dolphin Mini é muito mais atrativo tanto pela tecnologia como pelo design do carro. No entanto, o preço acabou ficando um pouco acima do esperado, já que na China ele custa menos da metade do valor comercializado no Brasil.

Por enquanto, o compacto da BYD terá apenas quatro lugares e, assim como os demais elétricos, não vem com pneu reserva, apenas com um kit reparo. A propósito, a substituição dos pneus é uma das preocupações do público brasileiro, já que o modelo ainda não é facilmente encontrado no país.

Para quem busca um carro mais econômico, o Dolphin Mini tem autonomia de 280 quilômetros com uma carga completa da bateria, que é o principal atrativo para os motoristas que rodam diariamente como quem faz Uber e 99 ou representantes comerciais.

Algo que a BYD pretende melhorar com a implantação de uma fábrica no Brasil em Camaçari, na Bahia, na antiga fábrica da Ford, que deixou de produzir carros no país.
