What no one tells you about college [ESP/ING]

La universidad no tiene que ser una experiencia para todos, pero, algunas personas pueden identificarse con aquella época en la que todos soñamos con ir a la universidad, ya sea porque pensamos que es una acción obigatoria en la vida o porque tenemos un sueño, así que, muchas veces idealizamos una experiencia, que sí bien es hermosa e importante, tampoco tiene que ser para todos y tampoco será el momento de vivir una película digna de Hollywood.
Les puedo decir, que yo disfruto muchísimo de la universidad, pero, debo admitir que no es una experiencia fácil, por ello, he dedicido hacer este post, con algunas cosas que nadie nunca dice cuando vas a la universidad.
College does not have to be an experience for everyone, but, some people can identify with that time when we all dream of going to college, either because we think it is an obligatory action in life or because we have a dream, so, many times we idealize an experience, that although it is beautiful and important, it does not have to be for everyone and it will not be the time to live a Hollywood worthy movie.
I can tell you that I really enjoy college, but I must admit that it is not an easy experience, so I decided to make this post, with some things that no one ever says when you go to college.
1| El camino no tiene porque ser líneal.
1| The path does not have to be linear.
Todos piensan que la vida universitaria se resume en entrar, estudiar, hacer amigos, estar 5 años ahí, amar tu univerdad y graduarte, pero, la realidad es que, nunca dicen que en la vida real y sobretodo en los momentos que vivimos en todo el mundo, no todas las personas tienen la posibilidad de ser constantes en la universidad. En mi caso, aún no me ha tocado, no poder seguir, pero, la universidad requiere de cierta estabilidad financiera con la que muchas veces no cuentas y es duro...
Así que algunos se ven obligados a pasar un semestre o si el problema no es economico, puede pasar, que algunos momentos dificiles le impidan continuar y eso no significa que los sueños terminan ahí, siempre hay una oportunidad de retomar, será una curva en el camino, pero, no el fin del mismo.
Everyone thinks that college life is all about getting in, studying, making friends, being there for 5 years, loving your college and graduating, but, the reality is that, they never say that in real life and especially in the times we live in around the world, not everyone has the possibility to be constant in college. In my case, it hasn't happened to me yet, not being able to continue, but, college requires a certain financial stability that many times you don't count on and it's hard....
So some are forced to pass a semester or if the problem is not economic, it can happen, that some difficult moments prevent them from continuing and that does not mean that dreams end there, there is always an opportunity to resume, it will be a curve in the road, but not the end of it.
2| Las clases no son suficientes.
2| Classes are not enough.
Una recomendación para toda persona que este en la universidad es que complementen lo que aprenden en la universidad, especialmente cuando tenemos demasiadas herramientas en el campo laboral, no todo lo darán en la universidad, hay cosas que solo se aprenden cuando eempezamos a practicar y esa practica me lleva a: trabaja mientras estudias, si no tienes la necesidad de hacerlo, es genial, pero, el trabajo te hará tener un factor diferencial, que te ayudará en tu carrera definitivamente.
A recommendation for anyone who is in college is to complement what they learn in college, especially when we have too many tools in the labor field, not everything will be given in college, there are things that are only learned when eempezamos to practice and that practice leads me to: work while you study, if you do not have the need to do so, is great, but, the work will make you have a differential factor, which will help you in your career definitely.
3| No tienes que pasar por la etapa de descontrol.
3| You don't have to go through the out-of-control stage.
Muchas personas piensan que la universidad tiene que ser un mood de salir, baillar, tomar y hacer todo tipo de locuras todos los días, yo digo, que no todos tenemos que pasar por eso, algunos disfrutamos de la tranquilidad de encontrarnos y por supuesto que es importante hacer amigos, yo tengo amigos en la universidad y me siento bien hablando con ellos y pasando el rato... Sin embargo, los ambientes tipo de discoteca no em hacen sentir comoda, para mí es mejor plan conversar en un plan tranqui, esa es mi experiencia, que no tiene que ser igual a la de todos.
Many people think that the university has to be a mood of going out, dancing, drinking and doing all kinds of crazy things every day, I say that not everyone has to go through that, some of us enjoy the tranquility of meeting and of course it is important to make friends, I have friends at the university and I feel good talking to them and hanging out .... However, disco type environments don't make me feel comfortable, for me it's better to talk in a quiet place, that's my experience, which doesn't have to be the same as everyone else.
4| No te gustará todo, incluso puede que no sea tu camino.
4| You won't like everything, it may not even be your path.
Llegamos al punto más importante: la experiencia universitaria no será un amor siempre, habrán momentos de crisis, ya sea porque te sientes perdido con lo que escogiste o si de plano sientes que lo que te apasiona no necesita ser estudiado de forma tradicional... Todo es válido, para mi, la universidad va más allá de lo academico, es más bien una experiencia en la que aprendes a convivir con distintos pensamientos, de estar en un lugar en el que habrán personas más o menos capacitadas.
La universidad también es el momento en el que te conviertes en adulto, en el que empiezas a solucionar tus problemas con ingenio, también viviras esos momentos en los que priorizas tus decisiones y será todo un mundo... Si descubres un día, que no era tu momento, o no era la carrera, no te sientas mal ni fracasado, la universidad no es todo en la vida.
We come to the most important point: the university experience will not be a love forever, there will be moments of crisis, either because you feel lost with what you chose or if you feel that what you are passionate about does not need to be studied in the traditional way... Everything is valid, for me, college goes beyond academics, it is rather an experience in which you learn to live with different thoughts, to be in a place where there will be more or less qualified people.
College is also the time when you become an adult, when you start to solve your problems with ingenuity, you will also live those moments when you prioritize your decisions and it will be a whole world... If you discover one day that it wasn't your time, or it wasn't the right career, don't feel bad or a failure, college is not everything in life.
