Siempre he dicho que me gusta que pasen un poco las olas de publicidad y de promoción para entonces poder ver una película y así empaparme de la historia y dar mi opinión en base a la experiencia, y las primeras impresiones. Esta película en su estreno me salía en todas partes de Netflix y luego sentí que bajo un poco el furor así que me dediqué a verla.
Entre la vida y la muerte, nos presenta a Tessa, una adolescente que se siente desconsolada y perdida después de un trágico accidente que la ha dejado sin su primer amor; a través de ella vivimos el dolor de la perdida y las señales que recibe del más allá así que Tessa intentará con todas sus fuerzas mantener el contacto con él, es entonces cuando se une lo paranormal con el romance en una cinta que nos profundiza en un amor inolvidable.
I've always said that I like to let the waves of hype and promotion pass a bit so I can then watch a movie to soak in the story and give my opinion based on experience, and first impressions. This movie on its release was popping up everywhere on Netflix for me and then I felt it lowered the furor a bit so I dedicated myself to watching it.
Between life and death, introduces us to Tessa, a teenager who feels heartbroken and lost after a tragic accident that has left her without her first love; through her we live the pain of loss and the signs she receives from beyond so Tessa will try with all her strength to maintain contact with him, it is then when the paranormal meets the romance in a tape that deepens us in an unforgettable love.
Es primera vez que veo una película que mezcla dos elementos que parecen ser bastante diferentes entre sí, y estos tienen que ser el romance y lo paranormal, pero aún así le di la oportunidad a la película, aunque siendo sincera cada vez que veo a la actriz que interpreta Tessa (Joey King) no me puedo sacar de la cabeza su papel en el Stand de los Besos pero la verdad es que después de unos minutos de película dejé a un lado este personaje y me metí en los sentimientos de esta nueva trama.
La película comienza en un punto donde ya han ocurrido los acontecimientos que le dan sentido a la historia pero nos regresa al pasado para entender un poco de los personajes y su historia, aunque debo decir que me quedaron debiendo desarrollo, creo que ningún personaje fue bien desarrollado incluso parecía que algunos solo estaban presentas para realizar una o dos cosas y ya. Así que por esta parte me sentí un poco decepcionada y con la sensación de que me quedaron debiendo un pedazo de la historia.
La trama... Realmente es un cliché que quisieron adornar con nuevos elementos al romance para hacerlo ver cómo más interesante, pero estos mismos elementos no se explicaron bien, es decir, la conexión entre dos mundos simplemente es algo que es usado para sustentar la trama pero como tal no me aporta demasiado en el tema paranormal; esto es porque quizá falto indagar un poco más y presentar la historia entonces de manera diferente.
It is the first time I see a movie that mixes two elements that seem to be quite different from each other, and these have to be romance and paranormal, but still I gave the movie a chance, although being honest every time I see the actress who plays Tessa (Joey King) I can not get out of my head her role in the Kissing Stand but the truth is that after a few minutes of the movie I put aside this character and got into the feelings of this new plot.
The movie starts at a point where the events that give meaning to the story have already happened but it takes us back to the past to understand a little of the characters and their history, although I must say that I was left lacking development, I think that no character was well developed even it seemed that some were only present to do one or two things and that's it. So for this part I felt a little disappointed and with the feeling that I was left owing a piece of the story.
The plot... It really is a cliché that they wanted to embellish with new elements to the romance to make it look more interesting, but these same elements were not explained well, that is, the connection between two worlds is simply something that is used to support the plot but as such does not bring me too much in the paranormal theme; this is because perhaps it lacked to investigate a little more and present the story then in a different way.
Algo que me hubiese gustado es que se indagara más en mi paranormal y en las diferentes teorías que se conocen sobre lo que existe entre la vida y la muerte, sentí que el tema fue tocado por encima y que en realidad esta es más una película romántica con una perspectiva diferente.
Un punto positivo para esta película es que la forma en la que se presenta la fotografía como un arte, como una manera de expresar sentimientos y personalidades; está parte realmente si me encanto, se pinta un plus en la trama que siento que terminó salvándola y haciéndola entretenida; además que el trabajo fotográfico de la película para ambientar todo ello es brutal.
Something that I would have liked is that it would have delved more into my paranormal and the different theories that are known about what exists between life and death, I felt that the subject was touched upon and that in reality this is more of a romantic film with a different perspective.
A positive point for this film is that the way in which photography is presented as an art, as a way to express feelings and personalities; this part really did charm me, it paints a plus in the plot that I feel ended up saving it and making it entertaining; plus the photographic work of the film to set it all is brutal.
Debí decir igualmente que hubo personajes que transmitieron mucha empatía y por ello hicieron conexión especial, en mi caso este personaje fue Shannon. Me hubiese gustado que el personaje de Skylar pudiera desarrollarse más porque siento que también el hubiese sigo una propuesta interesante que hacer al público.
Realmente está película no es merecedora de una impactante conexión o de dedicarle una gran cantidad de tiempo pero es buena para pasar el rato y aunque los personajes y la trama no son una cosa impactante, es cierto que es una película que se hace entretenida y visualmente bella.
Si me preguntaran : ¿Por qué creer en esta película a pesar de que es un cliché? Les diría que es porque es única a su manera y a pesar de que no será una de mis películas favoritas si debo reconocer que me saco unas cuantas sonrisas y que además me ayudó a pasar un buen momento, me desconecto de lo traumático que a veces resulta el día a día.
I should also say that there were characters that transmitted a lot of empathy and therefore made a special connection, in my case this character was Shannon. I wish Skylar's character could have been developed more because I feel he would have also had an interesting proposition to make to the audience.
Really this movie is not worthy of a shocking connection or to dedicate a great amount of time to it but it is good to pass the time and although the characters and the plot are not a shocking thing, it is true that it is a movie that is made entertaining and visually beautiful.
If you were to ask me: Why believe in this movie even though it is a cliché? I would tell you that it is because it is unique in its own way and even though it will not be one of my favorite movies, I must admit that it made me smile a few times and helped me to have a good time, I disconnect from the traumatic that sometimes results from the day to day.
