The abnormalies

Emma watched as all the children around her began to giggle in excitement, the air was charged with joy and happiness, even the flower walls seemed to glow somehow. The children were jumping up and down, playing in the swings. They couldn't hide the joy even if they wanted to, it was written on all their faces. Today was the most important day of their childhood, it was the day they discover their abnormalies.
A thousand years ago the world had been hit by an unknown force that had left the survivors with strange abilities. At first humans found it hard to adapt with this new found way of life but with time they evolved and soon a system was made. When a child is born, they are left at the Elysium until they turn twelve where at that point their abilities eventually manifest. They are then grouped by the abilities they show, and these abilities are called abnormalies. To group the children, they have to walk into a phone booth with glass doors and a single chair in it. No one ever remembers what happens in the booth, they always blackout, but when they wake up their eyes reflect the colour of their abnormaly. Orange for fire, blue for water and telekinesis, grey for flight, brown for strength, green for nature abnormalies, purple for healing, red for speed and the most powerful of them all, black for darkness and spirit. All the children with black abnormalies never seemed to stick around longer than fourteen, for some reason they seemed to disappear like they never existed. Rumour had it that the darkness swallowed them whole but Emma knew the reason. They Didn't disappear, they weren't swallowed by darkness, they were taken by the government to someplace they could never return from.
Soon it was Emma's turn to go into the phone booth and as she stepped her foot in it she prayed to the heavens or whoever was listening that she had any colour but black, she didn't want to be taken away. She slowly sat on the chair in the booth and instantly the lights went out but it wasn't the electricity light, it was the one in her Head.
Wow! Great story dear Kate.
I wish it was something more different from what she had seen 🥺
Thank you @meyateingi
Sounds like black to me.
💕🍀
All black, black and black
Emma's turn off, what could that actually depict?
If everyone has an abnormality doesn't this mean it's normal, a skill?
Thanks for joining pic1000.
Hello @freewritehouse. It's called an abnormality because the first survivors were humans before they became what they were. The didn't know what to call these abilities but they knew it wasn't normal.
