Tournament is one of the most rewarding aspect in splinterlands

The Og already knows what I am about to write so this post is specifically for the newbies in splinter lands.

Tournament is one of the most rewarding parts of Splinter Lands, or should I say it is the most rewarding for top players who get the top spot.

To thrive in the tournament you need a good deck, There are different kinds of tournaments ranging from cards edition and foil, we have the gold cards and the normal cards, the gold foil cards give more reward obviously but the investment is also expensive.

As a newbie who wants to start playing the Splinterlands tournament, If you have money, I suggest you get the full modern format cards which makes you eligible for all the modern tournaments and also the wild ones as long as you have enough collection power to enter the wild ones.

If you are a newbie who doesn't have enough money to invest but still wants to partake. you can start small by getting a max deck of Silver League account...there is a mana cap for the summoners and cards at this level so it is low in price compared to a champion account.

You can partake in a silver league tournament with the silver deck and slowly you can start building your deck to gold league level starting with the common cards cos they are the cheapest.

The screenshot above is a modern silver tournament and the entry fee is 200 Dec, there is an entry fee for all tournaments and the bigger the prize pool, the higher the entry fee would be, so do not expect to see the same entry fee for all tournament, you can check out the tournament's board to see the list of tournaments.

Here is the sps prize pool for this tournament, the top 4 would get 800 sps each. isn't that yummy? but to get that position, there are 3 factors to be considered, you need to be a good player and also have a good deck and lastly, you need luck! the luck part is hoping you get paired with a weak opponent or those without a good deck which makes it easier for you to win.

Rome was not built in a day, so if you really want to compete in those tournaments, start from somewhere like the Silver League then you upgrade your account and yourself to meet the standard of champions!

Gold investment is the best in rank play and tournament but it is not easy to have a gold collection because it costs a fortune but those who have the money are enjoying the benefits and they earn more than those players with normal foil decks.
