The willingness to lose money to test people's Honesty

A person who borrows money and refused to pay back can be termed a dishonest person... We must learn to understand something when it comes to obtaining a loan from friends...

There are 3 rules i think people should always put into consideration before they borrow money...

  • Do not borrow money if you do not have the means to pay it back.
  • When you borrow the money, pay it back at the stipulated time.
  • In case of any setback, do not ghost the person who lends you the money, instead message them, explain the reason why and set a new date to pay the money...

Many people are guilty of the first rule I mentioned, taking loans when they do not have the means to pay back, and in the end, they will start running helter-skelter to avoid the person who gives them the loan, some people don't even care instead they will turn it to a fight the moment you demand for your money.

I have been a victim of loaning people money and them failing to pay it back, in fact, it has happened to me countless times but that did not stop me from helping others who need help in the form of loans except I don't really have it...

I don't lend money to people I do not know except if their story is really touching and believable or probably my spirit just kinda feels like giving it to the person, but when it comes to friends that I relate with and they need help, I can't turn a blind eye to that, it may not be the total amount they need but I won't let them return the same way they came to seek for my help...

If they fail to return the money, I will not ask them for it, some people are so foolish to think you would forget that you lend them money, like for real? I lend you money for me to forget about it? just like that? 🤣 I just hate bugging people for my own money and if they end up not paying it back, that is good riddance because such a person will never be able to borrow another money from me again...

Highest loan I ever gave out

This goes to my blood sister and it was 150 000 naira, I knew it was lost money even before I loaned her the money because my instinct tells me she was not going to pay it back and I was right but I have no choice but to give her

She paid 30 000 naira and she stopped paying, what you already know can't pain you right, she gave me excuses and said she was going to pay later, we both know she was not saying the truth and she was not going to pay it lol..

Anyway that does not mean if she comes again for a loan that I still won't lend her, because she is a family and rules are broken for them because they would do the same for us....

A failed loan

Another loan that didn't go well happened one morning like that, I got a message from this person on WhatsApp and he needed 30 000 naira which he promised to pay back in a week's time, being an assistant pastor in the church I attend, I didn't want to refuse a man of God, so I gave him the loan, after one week, he didn't message me, nor did he call me, I was not attending church program at that moment but when I eventually did, we saw each other and he didn't say anything about the money he borrowed, like for real?

Anyway I didn't ask him either but that act of his closed my door to his whole family, I normally give his wife money like 10k, or 5k if she asks me, I stopped doing that and I also stop answering his son dm on WhatsApp..

I lost 30 000 naira but I get to know the kind of person he is and it also allows me to be able to avoid him and his family without feeling any remorse...

A recent loan

This happened last month, so this girl messaged me on WhatsApp, she is a friend of my nephew and I have her on my Whatsapp contact... She said she wanted to start selling cloth but she needs capital to start it and she wants me to loan her 20 000 naira which she is going to be paying back 5 000 naira weekly...

I was reluctant to lend her the money and that is because she is not working and the only means of getting back my money is if the business she is planning to start works out, that is not in my favor as I have to start praying for her business to be successful so she can pay me lol..

I told her I do not have the money yet but I will get back to her, I actually needed time to think if I should loan her the money or not knowing I could lose in the end, I love the fact she wants to be independent and also have a source of income so I made up my mind to lend her 15k instead of the 20k she asked for....

Fortunately, the business was a success, she paid back 5 000 weekly as promised even though the last payment took an extra two days but she successfully paid all she owed and I am impressed with her...

Her business is moving and I am glad I borrowed her the money to start it...

🤣🤣🤣 you will just become prayer warrior. Some people just decide to ruin their opportunity of coming back again when they refused to pay back a loan and expect to come back for another one. What has happened will never happened again. Those rules should be adhered to but not in the case of someone who is desperate to get the money and once they get it, you will start chasing after them. In the case of your sister, family will always be family no matter what they do to you. Lol

abi na lol, cos if the business fails, I will have to forget about the money I loan her...

Some people are not ashamed to come back after defaulting to pay, but they will not get it... As for my sister, I can't laugh jare lol

Man of culture 👍
Families got no rules holding them fam❤️
That's really nice, when it comes to family, all we will be praying for is that God continue to bless us all so that we won't even have the need to borrow but if the need comes around that we have the one to lend.

You'll have to change your prayer point to get your money back 😂

I don't even put my mind there, I know my family very well, and even if they have it, they won't return it, it is understandable cos if i am in their position, i can also do the same thing, so all is fair when it comes to family😁

Yes, I practice this too but it also depends on who the person is... When it comes to some really close friends and relatives, I usually bypass that rule

These three rules should not be ignored, been ghosted just because I asked for my money 🤧.

that is the first step a loan defaulter takes, it is when you become persistent in asking for your money that some will turn it into a fight...

People that borrow money with the intention of not paying back are ungrateful. It is more annoying if such a person is praying for the lender to forget it. It makes me regret giving out the money the first place. Like you stated, in the event of things not working out to pay the money as planned, communication is key to keep one's integrity intact.

Everyone are not like the same. Some feel desperate to repay after taking loan and some don't think about repaying. It also represent One's personality.
I also have some incident with loan and I will also share it today..

I have also encountered a lot of funny reactions and excuses from loan defaulters. As you rightly said, some of them will avoid you. There was a time I needed to call someone (a former classmate) to ask for the name of one of our lecturers but she didn't pick my call because she was owing me. I had to send her a message that I wasn't calling to ask for my money. She accused me of embarrassing her. And has she paid the loan now? For where?

Another common annoying excuse from loan defaulters is that "even Nigeria is in debt". What nonsense!
Delinquent people can be funny. Some of them will only remind you of the money they are owing when they want to ask for more loan. Like "I know am owing you 12k and I am planning to pay it very soon. But can add 8k to it and I'll pay the total amount at once." If anyone throws in that card, I'll just smile and change the topic.

Now, I don't lend people an amount I can't afford to lose. Also, if you ask me for a loan and I don't trust you, I'll direct you to some loan apps. And if you complain that the loan comes with an interest, I'll offer to pay the interest when you pay the main loan amount, period!

People can be so funny and weird when it comes to paying the money they owe and some will even make you feel bad for asking for your own money, you have witnessed a lot of things from these debtors...

Meanwhile, i checked your blog and you haven't been posting for some months, what could be the reason?

Thanks for your observation. I joined a few months ago and I am actually building my visibility. I believe when I am more visible, more people will read my posts. Secondly, I have issues with hashtags. I want to assume that the more hashtags I add to my post, the more people will see the post. What hashtags do you suggest I add to my posts?

Many thanks

That man of God fucked up big time. I also have my bad experience with loaning people and good ones as well.

People need to realise that things like this have psychological and ripple effect on the kindness of people. Any loan that doesn't goes well closes the door to another that will even be able to pay back but because of the fear of accumulating bad debts we won't and this always saddens my heart. Doing loans out of trust doesn't work like it used to, if you have nothing to offer to me as security I won't indulge in it. I only give loans to people who has proven themselves times and times again.

Thanks for sharing.
