The need for Speed on Splinterlands

Hello splinter nerds

Xbot has been banned on Splinterlands modern rank and so is the battle helper no longer working in modern rank, top-tier brawls, and tournaments.

The users of the bot do not seem pleased with this update and I see some grumbling that their investment in the game token is now useless but one thing they need to know is that the token served them well until now, so they must have gained back their capital invested on it since they have been using it.

Meanwhile, Xbot can still be used in the wild format so it is not totally useless in gameplay.

I had a battle today that proves the need for speed.

The rules were Stampede and Fog of War, the first rule allows trample monsters to become unstoppable as long as nothing like armor is stopping them nor did they miss their target while the fog of war rules is when monsters lose the sneak, snipe, and opportunity ability.

Such rules and just 2 splinter availability made me choose the death splinter and Astral Entity the summoner with the following stats: -2 Armor, Dodge, Resurrect

The most important part of this battle was when Nightmare became the last monster standing.

Nightmare is one of the fastest monsters in the death splinter with +7 speed, it has the phase ability which means it is designed to be used in battles where magic monsters are many.

This monster's speed combined with the dodge ability of the death summoner made it hard for the magic monsters to hit it.

The opponent Doctor Blight find it so difficult to hit it and it missed it like 6 times before the nightmare was able to eliminate it.

It was my confidence for me, I was certain I was going to win because the speed was +7 vs +1... The difference between the two monsters' speeds was huge.

The nightmare gave me victory and proves that speed really matters.
