Surround yourself with people who believe in you

When you surround yourself with people who believe in you, you develop superpower and confidence that makes you do things you did not believe you could do, their belief in you would push you harder to become great because you won't want to disappoint them.

I have had many cases like that, I find myself in a situation where those cheering me up harden my heart to continue because I do not want to fail them, it is not just about me any longer, I won't want to lose my face in front of those people that believe in me.

I would love to share my driving experience.

In the year 2014, my dad bought a Mazda bus with 18 passengers seat for the purpose of commercial ride, he entrusted the bus to my brother who lives in another city and I do visit him once in a while, so during one of my visit, I decided to learn how to drive the bus, he told me about the clutch, brake, and accelerator, how to change the gear and how to reverse, that was all I needed to know for a start and I was able to drive the bus that same day with the few lessons he gave me.

I started practicing once in a while but during this period, I never attempted to enter a busy road, I only drove the bus in the street so I have no fear since there is no other car, it was just me!.

A few months later, I went home to greet my parents, My dad have a space wagon car so I decided to test my skills with this car too, My mummy and one of my brother who stays with my parent was surprised and they asked me where I learned how to drive and I told them I learned it where I stay.

They believed I had perfected how to drive that my brother told me to teach him how to drive too, which I obliged if only he knew it was a situation where a learner was teaching another learner but he didn't know, I taught him what I know and I was surprised he didn't grab it as fast as I did, so we spent a lot of time teaching him on how to keep stable hands when driving.

The unexpected happened one day when my mummy asked me to drive her to a friend's house which is far from our estate and I needed to drive on a busy road, I was kind of scared because before this time, I had never entered a busy road with the car and I did not plan to anytime soon but her confidence in me, she believed I know how to drive very well because am sure she would never sit in a car am driving if she knows I was still learning, this old people and the fear of losing their life.

I did not want to disappoint her or make her feel like I couldn't drive, so I took on the challenge and told her to enter the car, when we got to the road, I was scared again but I was not ready to back down, I entered the road and changed the gear to 2 and I maintained that till we get to where we are going, her friend was also amazed I was the one that brought her and she greeted me well, my mummy was happy, I drove her back home and there was no accident neither did I give the sign of first timer on a busy road, that was how I conquered my fear and started driving on a busy road.

If it was not for her, I probably wouldn't try to drive on a busy road because I was playing safe.

This post made me to remember the first time I entered busy road with my car. Prior to that day I have been driving just within the estate and never entered the Express way. Then on this particular day my friend visited me and we decided to go to shoprite and shop. I was so ashamed to park the car in front of the estate as I normally do then enter commercial vehicle to wherever I wanted to go. My friend already have this confidence in me that I know how to drive and so she was just gisting with me not knowing that I was fighting a battle within me. I summoned courage and entered the Expressway that day. I drove to shoprite and came back in one piece and since then i started going long distance with my car.

lolz, our story is similar, it is amazing how we tend to overcome our fears when we see others that believe in us.

It takes courage to do something. And it takes the courage of others to win as well. Your mum had so much believe in your driving skills, that was why she asked you to drive him.

Awww, that was a beautiful read. I also commend you for believing in yourself. Trust me, it will be useless to have people around you to encourage you, if you don’t believe in yourself too.

Wow this is very insightful and inspirational ...

We truly need to have people who trust and believe in us around us at all time.

Your mom was a key factor that help your face your fear of driving in a busy road.

am sure she would never sit in a car am driving if she knew I was still learning, these old people and the fear of losing their life

Hahaha, this is so funny but true.

Having people who believe in you helps you gain confidence in yourself. But sometimes we need to believe in ourselves because we won'tt always have those people around us

I’m glad you took that as an opportunity to drive on the express

If you try to drive on the express again, you won’t be as scared as before

When someone believes in us we get a different kind of motivation and the energy is so powerful that I want to say it is magical. Nothing is easy in life but when you have some people to support you, encourage you, and believe in you then nothing is impossible also. They believe in you because they have the reason to believe you .
