This week's Splinterlands battle mage secret is Going the distance

A rule set in which only range monsters can be used, all other modes of attacks are not allowed.

My favorite splinter when I get this kind of rule is either the life or death splinter. I love The Life Splinter because of Ilthain Summoner with the fire return stat so all the opponent range monsters will suffer damages for attacking me except those with the reflection shield ability, for the death splinter, It has monsters that weaken range attacks and also there is a particular monster there with the amplify ability which increases the return damage done, you can guess the monster. it is a two-mana card.

I feel disappointed whenever I get this rule in modern format and both life and death splinter are not available, the water splinter isn't that bad in this ruleset too especially if Dragon summoner can be used to summon them, Quix the Devious is the best dragon summoner that best fit this rule set due to its -1 range stat.

This was my predicament when I got the ruleset, no life or death splinter was available but there was dragon and water splinter.

We were given 2 other rulesets:

• Noxious fume: A ruleset in which all monsters are poisoned except those with the immunity ability.

• FiveAlive: Only five monsters can be used!

Based on my explanation above, you can guess the splinter I was going to come up with to tackle the opponent.

The opponent used a dragon summoner but it was Lily panda that focused my attacks on only his tank while I came up with my best five .

My formation

Drybone Raider is a double attack monster, I placed it at the front position because of its melee power and it also has double strike so I counted on him to destroy the opponent tank but I know he needs to be given a chance to attack so I used Endura Brune with the Headwinds ability that reduces range attack in the second position so the opponent monsters can be less powerful, it also has a swift ability which gives my monsters higher chance to be the first to attack.

Sea stalker has two abilities that I needed in the battle, which are the amplify and cleanse the cleanse is to take away the poison and all other negative stats on Drybone Raider while the amplify is to cause double damage to the opponent with the trap I set.

The Runic Skyclaw has a reflection shield so she won't be affected by the opponent monsters with the Return fire ability but he didn't use any, runic is also good at eliminating giant monsters, it destroyed 3 out of the opponent monsters before the poison eliminated her and lastly was Wave brood which was the trap I set, it is a taunt monster with the fire return ability and this cause more havoc to the opponent monsters and made me victorious in the battle.
