Splinterlands battle mage Secret: Close Range
Hello Splinter nerds
This week's Splinterlands battle mage secret is Close Range
A rule set in which all range monsters have the ability to attack from the front position.
We were given 2 other rules which were:
Aimless: This gives all the monsters scattershot
ability which only works for range and magic monsters.
Lost Magic: Monsters with magic attacks can not be used in the battle, this rule makes one thing obvious, the opponent can only use melee or range attacks.
Based on my Instinct, there is a high probability he was going to come up with range attacks and there are two ways to counter it, it is either by using a summoner that has the fire return
stat or using monsters with the Headwinds
ability that can help to reduce the range power of monsters.
I love the first option better, so I used Ilthain a life summoner with the Return Fire
stats which does damage back to any range monster that hits monsters summoned by it and it also gives all the monsters +1 speed, I use it to summon some powerful range monsters which I will reveal soon but guess what the opponent used?
The opponent came up with the Death Splinter using a monster with Headwinds
to reduce my range attack but that does not save him from the return fire
ability that I set as a trap for his monsters.
The inevitable is a strong tank with a shield and repair
ability to protect itself from the opponent's hit and it also has triage
that heals the rear monsters on its team, the opponent Arkemis the bear
could not do a lot of damage to it cos of the shield and the immunity ability also protected it against the bear halving. Due to the scattershot ability, I knew triage ability would be much needed and that is why I placed Albahoo in the second position and it had to heal itself cos the opponent targeted it more.
Zyriel is a monster with a weapon training ability and it helps to give Albahoo
range power, it also has the rust ability that helps to take -2 armor from all the opponent monsters, Crystal Smith was my healer and it purpose was to heal Inevitable and it helps to eliminate the opponent Lira the Dark.
The Commander Golf is one of my favorite range rebellion monsters and that is because of his amazing stats, the resurrect, inspire, and dodge abilities were quite useful in this battle as the opponent monsters found it difficult to hit it, supply runner gives +1 speed to all my monsters giving me a chance to be the one to attack first.
The battle was a flawless victory as the opponent was not able to defeat any of my monsters, all thanks to the 2 triage monsters I used.
