Some crimes that can be pardoned but people will abuse the privilege
Recently news broke out that the Congo government sentenced some youths to death, their offense was treason, they planned to overthrow the current Ruler, I have always wondered why the government has no mercy for people who commit treason but it became clear to me that the act threatens their position and also it could lead to their death if it was carried out successfully.

Forgiving such an enemy after an unsuccessful attempt is giving them another opportunity to strike again but what is most feared is that if they forgive them, it will give many others the courage to try it with the hope they can be forgiven.
A lot of Coup has happened in Nigeria which led to the loss of our leaders, it all happened during the military regime and it was when the power was given to the civilian government that it stopped.
So even though it is an act of cruelty to sentence many youths to death for that offense, it is a necessary step to put fear in the hearts of others not to embark on it with death glaring at them and I agree with the sentencing even though it is brutal.
There are many offenses I think should be pardoned but the problem is abuse, people will abuse it! Humans are so good at that, they will intentionally do it and then play the pity card.

So there was a guy who invited his girlfriend to his place, they had fun and sex throughout the night and slept off around 4 a.m, the guy woke up to the dead body of his girlfriend. He was so scared and didn't know what to do but in the end, he went to report himself to the police and that was how he got arrested.
The lady's family was contacted, and they didn't believe his story and ensured he served a jailed term... Things like this have happened to a lot of people and many have been punished for a crime they know nothing about.
There was another guy who allowed his female friend to spend a night in his house, known to him that the lady was coming from her boyfriend's place who already used her, the lady died in his place and there was no proof to show that he was not the one that killed her since she slept in his place, this is one of the reason why I do not support the idea of people sleeping over in my place.
Cases like the one I mentioned above ought to be pardoned but the heart of men is wicked, people will commit murder and pin it on the excuses I mentioned above.
The best thing is to stay away from trouble and avoid friends who will want to implicate you. May we not suffer from someone else crime.

yea if there is a law, there should be punishment for whosoever goes against it.
Going against government and having the capability to threaten government is risky for your live because government care about the power not about you doesn't matter you are right or wrong.
In case of second incident, I think proper investigation might bring some proof of the girl's death.

Generally we can’t know the truth and as you rightly said pardoning people in this type of situations will only call for abuse. It’ll take a very good lawyer to convince the judge that the young man in question is innocent.
