Scary things that happen on Public Transport

A few months ago, one of my coursemates was robbed on a bus... She boarded this yellow bus that was going from my area to Ikeja... It was barely 5 minutes through the trip that the conductor started harassing her and told her to bring out her phone, she looked around to see the reaction of the other passengers on the bus but there was no reaction from them and that was when she realized they were into it together and they did not see a reason to act and that is why they were quiet.

She remembered seeing 5 passengers on the bus before she entered and there was one lady who even wore a hijab which put her mind at rest that there was nothing to fear, unfortunately for her that was a one-chance bus! She had to drop her phone and purse that contained 25 000 Naira and was dropped, it looked like a movie to her.

We have many of such that operate in my area and this is because of the hardship of the economy, no jobs and the price of goods have skyrocketed but this does not justify the crimes those people are committing, because their victims are also suffering but still chose to live a decent life rather than steal from others.

When she told me what happened to her, guess my response to her?

I told her she was lucky, so damn lucky that those people are just thieves and not kidnappers or ritualists because those ones are everywhere, I pray none of us will become a victim.

People are missing daily and we don't know what happened to them, it is obvious they were kidnapped but we don't know what happened next, were they sold off, their organs harvested, or killed, we never can tell and we would never have a reason to witness such horrifying scenes...

Most kidnappers do not like releasing their victims even after collecting the ransom because they don't want to be caught and they know the victim has seen them or might have information that might get them caught, so they avoid taking risks and killing instead.

This is the reason I'm not too fond of public transport and also the reason why I don't travel long distances, there are many stories of people who lost their lives or got robbed in public transport and I do not want to be a victim of such.

The fuel price also made the price of transport higher but that is the least of my worries, the main thing is to be safe while on those buses and cars being used for Bolt/uber and the likes this is a story for another day.

🤯! That’s not a movie?
I’ve never even checked the car I’m in to see if the people in the car could be robbers or something like that…a lot is really happening
Indeed she was lucky to have returned alive.

Indeed she's lucky to have returned back. A lot of people have been kidnapped through one chance and while some came back others didn't. God will continue to see us through 🙏

Hmm
Omo your friend should be grateful for life. I always check inside a bus before boarding. If they look like thieves or kidnappers, you won’t find me in them
But how will I know if they are kidnappers for real😅
Nah God dey save man
