Myths i was told as a kid that were not realistic

We were told many lies while growing up as a child and we believed those lies for a very long time that even if anyone tell us it was a lie, we won't believe it and even start an argument claiming we know what we are saying as if we were there when it happened.

Nigeria Vs India football match

Till today, I still wonder who started the rumor for this lie to have spread like wildfire and we all seemed to believe it until we became adults and wonder if that is really possible.

We were made to believe that India challenged Nigeria to a football match in which they said if Nigeria is able to score one goal, they would automatically become the winner.

When the match started, the ball started to turn into a lion, fire, and other dangerous things which made the Nigerian footballers run away from the ball and the Indians scored 99 goals.

During the last minute of the match, Rasheed Yekini one of the Nigerian footballers didn't care what the ball was going to turn to that he kicked it so hard and scored a goal but he died on the spot because what he kicked was not a ball but a very big stone.

Nigeria won the match and Indians were banned from football since then.

This is the story we were told whenever we are curious why Indians are never seen in football competitions.

The superstition about fallen tooth and lizard

Another one that kids are scared of is the fallen tooth, we were made to believe that if we do not dispose of our fallen tooth properly and a lizard happens to see it, another tooth will not grow at that spot we lose a tooth again.

This put great fear in me that I always bury all my fallen teeth so lizard won't see them. xd

When it is sunny and rainy at the same time

We were also made to believe when this happen, it means a lion has given birth, I could remember one afternoon that I witnessed this event, I kept telling my friends that a lion has given birth to a king because that was what I was made to believe.

On days like this, I will be so happy and even play in the rain.

Most of these myths were told by our parents and siblings to stop us from our bad habits, for example, the fallen tooth and lizard, not allowing someone to walk over us while laying down or else we will get sick, not eating from the pot or our buttock will become black and so many more but I don't understand the reason for some like the Nigeria vs India football match, no moral lesson. xd
