Life is hard but every struggle and hustle makes it better

Some of us know the true definition of responsibilities at an early stage of our lives, we saw how our parents struggled to take care of us and our siblings and this only motivated us to strive harder so we could stop being a burden to them.

When I see my nephew who is now 18 years still doing mummy's pet and relying on his uncle to get him stuff, I do try to motivate him with my story that I was sixteen years old when I left my parents' house and it was that same age I started working and earning money. Relying on others to survive would only limit your potential, you would not push yourself to the extreme because you believe some people will help and give you what you want but what happens when those people don't have the resources to help you anymore or what they have is not enough to take care of themselves.

Life was tough, I was earning so little but I was a dreamer who was ready to explore the world and make it on his own, though I still got the support of my sibling who accommodated me, and friends who helped me on days with little to nothing because the money I was earning was low. I survived.

I work so hard during the day and dream at night about the life I want which motivates me more to work harder the next day... I dream about things I thought were impossible but a child who has never seen another person's farm would think his father's farm is the biggest, I thought it was impossible because of my vision but when I finally achieved those goals I realized I needed to set bigger goals and the dream keeps getting bigger and bigger and God never disappoints. Sometimes it gets hard but I never stop believing in myself and trust in God to make things easy for me.

Being independent is something that has always been a part of me, I am an Aquarius, a zodiac sign that is known to be emotionally unattached to others and also aloof most time, people with this trait tend not to depend on others because you can't be aloof and be clingy at the same time, but when still small they depend on parents on basic things like food and cloths, you can say the same thing for me but the moment I left home, all that stop...

That was when my independent lifestyle started, my independent nature kicked in, some people would leave home and still call their parents to send money, I did not even remember that I had parents somewhere that could send me money, I rather starve myself or take foodstuffs in debt from the person I buy my foodstuffs.

I was a debtor until 2017, and that was because my income was not enough to feed me, so I would often buy things on credit and pay back when I received my salary but all that stopped when my workload increased and my income got a boost too, I could now feed myself well without taking credit and I could save part of the money.

This is proof that life can be hard at first but with every hustle and struggle, your life will only get better, I want everyone to be able to look at their past and thank their creator for making their present better, then to work harder and be hopeful that tomorrow will be better than today.

What a motivation, you have a strong will. I hope your nephew learns a thing or two from you, it would help him in the long run.
I started working around 17 though in my case, I did call home from time to time when the need arose.

well I don't think he is motivated, he is not doing the right thing and he still does not have the mindset I want him to have.

Hopefully he will later on, we grow at individual rates. We just need to make some changes before it becomes late

This is so true.. and when you look around today, you will see some of our youth born with silver spoon who wouldn't do anything to help their lives because they depend on others. What if you can't find that source anymore?
As for you, you started being so independent at early age..that may have been challenging but here you are today...may God continue to bless ur hustle

It’s very good if you get someone who does everything for you especially in the financial aspect and that kind of person is supposed to be smart in the sense of saving up and trying to earn some money even before having some responsibilities
That person is lucky only if he knows what he or she is doing

yea it is good, paves the way to build one's wealth since someone is footing your bill but what if the person refuses to work, but is fully dependent on others, there is no way for such a person to save

You are right, when an individual is independent, He or she is limitless. There is no progress in staying in our comfort zone, we all need to stretch to become great in life

Leaving home at that age, I can't imagine it, the first time I left home was for school while you left to survive out there, earning little while taking care of your bills, that's a great step you took cause in our world today most youths still depend on their parents for feeding and clothing.

yea just like my nephew still depends on his parents and uncle... all successful people have a story to tell

Of course it is a fact that less people go where there is more effort and people always go for short cuts but they can never get success there and that is where a person who goes that way will work hard. And one day it will surely succeed.

Spot on!!!
Life will keep getting harder for the one who still relies on parents and family members to care for them because they won't be able to explore and find out about their potential. Life may get tougher when we keep trying to survive and dreaming of a better life but the best will come when we don't give up.

This resonates with me on so many levels, I grew older before my age, I saw and understood the harsh reality of life and this is the one thing I will never let my kids experience.

They will be kids when they are kids, not turn adults because of the condition of life.

Thanks for sharing this piece.

people who have experienced hardship would never want their kids to face the same, they will sacrifice their enjoyment to make it in life so their children can enjoy what they didn't enjoy in their childhood

I'm usually motivated when I hear of such people. I can't tell if it's a gift to be independent or it's something that comes naturally.

But bro I'm tired of being an adult. This adulthood is not adulting 😭

it is a stage in life that we can't avoid, we can only be hopeful for it to be better with time... Your time will come🙂

Truly its a stage we can't avoid in life. If only it could be avoided, I would have avoided mine. I didn't see it coming this way
