There is always a missing part in a story, i have written about how i quitted my job as a teacher and also stated that the reason was because of the meagre salary which could not sustain my future but there was something else that gives me joy and made me not want to stop..

The happiness on the kids face and most especially my best friend made me persist for too long cos she was my colleague, we were both teaching in the same school and we are most time together during our free time in the school and we also go home together....

I did not care much about the money, i love my work and the people i work with just made it more beautiful, the only problem was that my bestfriend is very stubborn and she is always at loggerhead with the proprietress of the school...

If your boss likes you, then you should know you are really working diligently for him/her, so yea my boss likes me and i am not surprised.... I am a workaholic and i don't complain.... While other teachers were taking one class, i was taking 2 classes and i was also the computer teacher of all the pupils, you can imagine the work load that was on me alone....

I was the one that introduced my best friend to the school so anytime she offends my boss, she always report her to me and i do apologize on her behalf, but then same thing keeps happening and most time it is trivial things that caused the fight.....

I guess they just don't like each other, but i think what often cause the fight was because my bestfriend was not ready to sacrifice her time or do more than she was paid for, which didn't go well with the boss and she decided to fire her....

I pleaded with her not to fire her but she did! ofcourse i won't blame the boss for doing what is right for her school but unfortunately she won't be losing just one person but two....

I felt empty the first day at school without my best friend, every place in the school reminds me of her, i was heart broken and missed her...

This made me lose interest in the work, whenever i walk past the spot we have been together, it only makes things worse and most of the spot in the school reminds me of her, i lost my high spirit and the only thing on my mind was to set myself free from those memories and the only way to achieve this is to quit the job...

I knew this will happen and that is why i apologize to the boss not to fire her, but i guess she thinks firing her would be the end, she didn't realize she is indirectly firing me too....

I had to quit because i can't stay in a place where i am not happy... My happiness is my priority....

That was my last teaching job in a school, i have actually been deliberating to quit for a long time so i can focus on my online career but i didn't because of her, so the moment she left, that was a good reason to quit and say goodbye to the teaching profession.....

well i do miss people i have bonded with when they are gone, i was teaching the basic six and anytime my pupils graduate and leave the school, i do feel that way but not as strong as my bestie own lol

Most private schools will make one do more than they are paid for and if one isn't smart to refuse or take his or her stand, they will continue to use you since you aren't complaining but your best friend did.
So, you found a legit reason to quit the school. The sad thing is that schools do not pay teachers well and the first time I calculated how much I earn online, it was more than what I collect as salary as a teacher and online, it's flexible because I have more time to do other things.

what we earn online in two days used to be our monthly salary, which proves how bad the teaching job pay is and yes you are right, we are doing three people work yet getting paid only for one person lol...That is life though

Most times, we don't have to do things untill our knuckles turn white, quitting is always the best option when it seems like what you're doing is not favorable for you.

This made me to remember a when I was working In a place, I had to quit cuz I don't have time for myself anymore, so I have to quit, even thousand I'm getting a good pay.

It is indeed okay to quit sometimes.take my peace out of a work and you won't find me around it. Just the title of this post made me feel like to swallow the entire content already hehe.

I have had a teaching experience too and I won't be surprise that you had plans to live since but you you didn't know how to until your friend opened the door for you hehe.

Seriously If i am to judge that matter your friend was just so right to leave , in fact if I was in her shoes I would have left before I got fired, some proprietors and proprietress can be so ungrateful, you give them all your efforts and strength yet they will never appreciate even with the little payment. I am not saying teachers should leave their profession when they are not paid properly but sometimes a little appreciation is far better than a million naira or dollar. I am very sure that it was lack of appreciation from your proprietress that her and your friend to continually be in bad times.

If she needs more people to work for her more than she pays then she needs to learn how to understand people that work with her too.

yea i was not motivated to teach anymore and i was just forcing myself, am sure the kids even notice their master was not as agile as he used to be, so leaving was the best option for me😊

Well, though loading interest in a job can result to a person to quit but I do feel like to some extent you could have redirected your affection to your students, in that way you wouldn't miss her as much as you do, except the feeling is more than friendship 😅😅.

You were a very valuable asset to the school and you know that in nature of the country economy most schools to to underpay their teachers because they afford to pay for the full services rendered and it takes a lot of tolerance to stay on a job and for her, I don't think she considered you while she was taking actions that could warrant being sacked.

I just hope it was worth it because I don't think I could have made such a decision because I feel like she had it coming.

Though I am still confused about your nature of affection towards her, it seems rather romantic than friendship.

well i won't blame her, she said she doesn't want to partake in the afternoon lesson that she have something else she was doing but my boss wanted to make that compulsory, and there are other things that causes their disagreement like that, so it was not really about me and i also can't tell her to bear it, that would make me selfish i think......

i really can't direct the affection to the students, there are different kind of feelings, the feelings towards my students will definitely be different from the one i have for my friend....

love is friendship and we can't deny some deep feelings that crept in during the process
