I try my best to avoid buying food in Hotels
I am a Foodie and I can't even count how many times I eat in 24 hours, I do not follow the 3 times meal a day rule.
Even though I love food, I live on a budget and do not spend lavishly on food unless on special days when I am in the mood to taste something really nice. I can eat the same kind of food for the whole week, on days like this I focus on eating bread and beans and I don't cook it, I made 2 eateries in my area my food joint and that is where I buy my morning and night food, the life of a bachelor.
You must be wondering why I didn't mention lunch, it is the remnant of the food I ate in the morning that I eat in the afternoon then I will go and buy another Bb at night and sometimes I change to swallow an egusi soup.
It is just sad that the same bread and beans that I spent 150 Naira[ bread 100 naira and 50 naira beans] and would be fully satisfied with years ago has changed in price drastically that there is no more 50 naira beans and even 100 naira beans is just one spoon that can't reach anywhere and also I need bread of 250 naira to be satisfied.
The bread and beans is when I am being economical, if I really want to treat myself to a nice meal which I do once in a while, there is a joint not too far from my area, It costs 100 naira transport fare to get there, That is where I go to buy the combo of Jollof rice and fried rice, plantain, turkey, meat and egg which often cost me nothing like than 3500 Naira but I also do eat the food in the morning and afternoon.
The place I hate to eat is in hotels, their food is very expensive and to make it worse, their one plate can never satisfy you, I remember one day I and my babe traveled to my former area and we decided to spend the night in the hotel, we ask for their menu and there I saw jollof #1500, turkey #2500, plantain #1000 and some other food but we ordered for those ones I listed their price instead but guess what they brought for us.
The Jollof was so small, and the turkey was big but still, I think buying 3200 Orobo and frying it myself is far better and the one I never expected was the plantain, They only put 5 small sliced Plantain in the food which really annoyed me, 1 thousand naira plantain in my area is like 9 in a bunch and from one plantain I can slice it to like 10 or 12, so how can they put 5 slices in the food as 1000 naira, we ate it like that but neither of us was satisfied with the food.
Few minutes later, she was already crying for another food but I was definitely not buying that expensive hotel food again, we spent 10 400 naira including bottled water. I already called @quduus1 to join us at the hotel so I used that opportunity to tell her to be patient and that when Fox arrives, we will go out to eat.
Fox arrived shortly and he took us to a restaurant where we bought food, their food was more delicious and less costly than the hotel food, their plantain was much and the jollof was plenty too, I didn't spend up to 4000 Naira there for the three of us and we were all satisfied after eaten. Imagine the three of us decided to eat the hotel food again.

Seriously, if you want to eat to your full, you don't get yourself angry by going to a hotel😅 I think that place is meant for people that has small size of belly😂 because the way their food used to be small and then, the price will be choking you one side.
both the price and quantity of food served is nothing good to talk about, I have learn now sha, anytime I lodge, i prefer going out to eat then come back to the hotel because they don't allow people to bring food inside
Hotels make it look like the food was prepared specially or they have any secret ingredient, if not why be so expensive?
nah it is not special, their food isn't that sweet either, it is expensive because they are putting the bills of their staffs and building maintenance on us that lodge
Hotels will just eat your money😅😅
I’m sure you’d never want to buy such again
It is not that there is no money but it hurts to buy a small food at that price
yea imagine 5000 naira food not satisfying your hunger in this naija economy
The prices of food is so high these days, I wonder why prices of goods keep sky rocketing with no sign of improvement. No price control.Buying of food in hotels is scam because they sell food very costly with small quantity.
that is inflation my brother, doesn't look like the country will be better, things only get worse......
In the case of cheap food, I can say it easily and I take cheap food on a regular basis but in the case of expressive one, I need to think a lot because I always think about cost-effective things.
I also think too but sometimes, i do treat myself to a nice meal
If you three decided to eat in the hotel, you probably would have spent over 40 thousand naira just for proper satisfaction, that is a whole lot of money to spend on food even if you're a foodie😄.
omo, and I would later bite my fingers because if we want to eat and drink to our satisfaction outside, we cant spend up to 15k
It is a fact that when we go to eat in a hotel, the price is very high and sometimes we don't like the food in a hotel at all, and after paying more money, a person will be disappointed. I am very sorry. It is better that people cook and eat such good things at home.
