Do people still go to the library
The first time I visited the library was in senior secondary school, we were given an assignment in class in a book, and the only place we could find the book was in the public library not too far from my school.

I was amazed by the silence that started in the library compound, me and my colleagues who went there together suddenly stopped talking, the aura of the library got to us, I was more shocked when we got inside the library and met many people there yet it looks like there was no one around because of the quietness.
It was my first and the last time in the library but I can boast of experiencing what happens in the library and the silence that reigns there.
I am currently running an Nd part-time program, I paid for the library, it is mandatory as they added it to our school fee but I do not know the library's location talkless of going there because I do not see the need for it... The internet has made everything we need in the library easy to access.
The library is not as needed as in the past when it was our only go-to for information, most of the things and information we need now in the library are now online as well and most people won't leave the convenience of their house to go and sit in a library to read a book they can access online.

The government can channel the money they invest in the library into other thriving sectors, like sports and so on.
People are no longer interested in reading too, gone are the days when education is the best legacy a parent can give to their child, gone are the days that education is the passport for the future, the school has been turned into something else, the money spent can not be earned back because a lot of graduates are unemployed due to the bad economy, the money that is being charged in school is too much that if one gets a job, he might still not be able to recover all spent unless he secured a very good job.
Most people are going to school now just for the sake of having the certificate because life starts after that, people dump the certificate and hustle like an illiterate.
Unfortunately, the library is losing its value because a better way to get the soft copy of those books now exists. The world is changing and the people are changing with it, in a few years, we are going to experience a lot more changes.
If we look at it from other angles, we have different types of libraries and we have some libraries that hold ancient facts that can't be seen online because only a few have access to where they are kept and they know better not to let it be seen online.
This is just my thought about libraries, been a long time I visited one, so maybe I could be wrong... Do many people still visit the libraries nowadays?

Hmm
I think those who love to read books are older people
Young ones like us will rather go for e-book
more younger ones will rather fling the book lol
e-book is okay i still prefer library there is distractions reading online. people who used library seems more educated than us using the internet. if our libraries can be upgraded that will be nice.
i don't agree with the statement that people who use library are more educated than those who do not. it is just like saying people who cook with gas knows how to cook more than people using firewood.
Videos make people dumb. Reading is the way.
Books are very valuable. Digital content is too volatile, history is easier to rewrite and the past will be forgotten.

True, people are no longer interested in reading books. My current school has an online library to source any information we need from start to finish in all courses. It's amazing going to school now compared to before.
education is no longer the way to get rich xd.... online library? that is dope!

The dependency on library has been decreased a lot and many people lost interest in reading. Now I don't need to go to library for finding answers of many questions as I can get it in online but I love to visit library to do my study because of the environment. I need the environment if I am preparing for some kind of exam. So, still I feel it's a thing I need even in the present time.
yea it makes sense cos the library is always quiet.
