A visit that changes my mindset

Hello famz, it has been long i participated in the hive learners challenge but tonight i decided to shake off the laziness and i found the topic ongoing to be interesting....

Most people are naive at the first phase of their life which falls in their child hood, since a child knows nothing more than to eat and play.. While some are lucky to be born with a silver spoon, they never had to worry about the basic needs of life and their wants and need is always provided, some had to experience real life through the hardship they face at the early stage of their life....

I won't say i came from a poor family because my father is a civil servant and he is being paid well by the government, he built his own house too but there is more to this, he didn't manage his money well and even some of his friends will always say they were surprised he was able to build a house...

My father is one person that loves to party and drink with friends so most of the money he made was spent on irrelevant things as such and not only this, he married three wives! and this affected us all because there is no way he can be fully responsible for everyone of us...

Life was not that bad for me and my mum as we live together while my dad stays in the city but there are days when we had nothing to eat and will need to visit a woman in the next street to buy food stuff on credits, there are days i would be sent home from school because i am yet to balance my school fees, i was born into it, i thought that was how life is, days of hunger and all, but one thing remain, i was happy with this unpleasant life style because you can't miss what you have never experience..

I had no dreams, i was just living life as it is, everything changed after i graduated from secondary school and visited my cousin in another state... I saw things i have never seen before, i feel things i have never felt before, i ate things i can only dream about, life was beautiful there and that was when it dawned on me that i have been suffering all my life!

Don't get it wrong, my parent tried their best, they didn't fail me as a parent, they feed me, they cloth me and provide for my needs as best as they could but there are somethings i missed or should i say things i never get to enjoy...

In my cousin place, she had Ac and it was there i felt how good it is to be in a room with Air conditioner, i ate different kind of foods in her place but while at home, we ate mostly garri and like three times in a week we change food to rice or beans, my cousin took me out to places like tantalizer and chicken republic to get me some goodies there and yea her husband car was the first car i entered that has Ac, so you can see i missed alot....

These things i was enjoying there made me realized i have been missing alot and right there i made up my mind, i must to make it in life, it totally change my mindet, i left there after two weeks but guess what happened after i got home?

I could not bear the heat and mosquitoes and the tattered lifestyle anymore, i hate myself for hating my home but still i had to leave, i could not even sleep well on my first night after i returned from my cousin place, i now know the difference between a good life and sufferness....

The next day i made a decision to leave my home and seek for a greener pasture and it was one of the best decision of my life, i left home and started to work, i keep working, working, i worked till i found hive and am still working and am happy with what i have achieved so far and i can now live the life my cousin was living that time but that is not enough

I have a bigger dream and i know i will achieve it as long as i didnt waver and am dedicated to my goals....
