School After School???
Omo… as it stands, I can’t wait to be done with this school I’m currently in and you’re asking me about the one I’ll go to next? Come on… give me a break! I’m the kind of person that believes in taking breaks between educational pursuits because this life is not a race, we’re not in competition and so I like to do things at my own pace.
I stayed home for about two to three years before I got admission into school, and then I stayed home for an extra year after my compulsory one-year IT after my ND. And even as it stands, I’m planning to stay a while before service so I will enjoy some time off doing absolutely nothing but furthering my writing goals. However, all that is under probability and it’s only the circumstances I find myself in at that time that will determine the steps I will take.
But then, what happens after my schooling and service? Do I hope to further my education or will I just keep on hustling? Well, so far there are so many ways this can go. I have every intention of furthering my education, but not in the way you might expect.
I’m studying Electrical Engineering right now in my finals, and when I’m done I could have the opportunity to go get my Masters and even whatnot. However, these things are way too expensive and they don’t even guarantee that you’ll get a good job.
Thankfully though, we live in a society where one can easily learn different skills they had no prior knowledge about. Within six months to one year, even a dummy can become proficient in a skill and turn it into a money maker as long as they’re serious and dedicated. That’s what I’m planning to do with regard to furthering my education.
One thing I’d like to learn is solar and inverter installation, but they don’t teach that in my school. If I go to a school dedicated to just that, I can learn it within six months to one year, depending on their syllabus. By the time I’m done, I’ll become proficient enough to start taking clients and working for people.
So far, besides my school certificates, I already have about three separate certificates I’ve gotten over the years from various courses I’ve gotten online. I’m a professional manuscript editor and also a professional book project consultant, and you know what, I want more! I want to learn so many things, not just to make money off them but also to know them well.
I have a list of classes I’m hoping to take, I can’t take them right now because of school and I really don’t want to be missing out because I’m sure they would cost me an arm and a leg. And I’m ready to go all the way for this; even if it means having to travel to another state just to get lectures, I’ll do it. All I want is for me to learn and become better at what I do.
I don’t know what the future holds, but I’m willing to welcome it with open arms. If the opportunity comes to further my education in Engineering, I would gladly do that. And if I get to learn some other skill, I would do that as well. I’m at that stage of my life where I’m open to anything and everything, I don’t want to limit myself in any way. This is the time for me to make mistakes and learn from them so that in the future I would know that I really tried.
So, my dear friends, one thing is for sure; I’m definitely going to further my education. But that is a road that forks off in so many directions and for now, I can’t say what path I’ll take. I’m just going to let nature decide for me.
I’ll decide when I get there.
Taking breaks in between two academic years is a difficult step, I feel. I feel like it breaks the momentum.
But each of us have our individual traits. One thing difficult for me might be easy for you.
You seem to be in full energy to acquire so many things. There is a phase in our lives when we can take multiple steps. At other spots in our lives we need to be focused on one.
The achievements that you have mentioned display that you are a determined person, and I am sure the nature will decide the best for you.

I get your point. I just feel that continuing like that would just be tiring, and I'm not up for that.
But then, just like you said, everyone will work with what works best for them.
Thank you for this.
That's the key. Hehe
You are thinking multidimensionally and that kind of thought is very needed in the current time because like in past times we can't depend on only one thing considering the overall situation and we should try our best to develop more skills as much as we can. Best of luck to you and I hope you will do better in the future.
Yeah... we should develop as much skills as we can, we never can tell when they would come in handy!

While you choose to take breaks, some people don't have a choice than to take breaks because of financial setbacks.
It's true that learning never ends and once a man stops learning, he loses touch with reality. You have got great plans bro because this solar and inverter of a thing seems to be a trend in Nigeria and many people are making lots of money from it.
We don't know how far but we have a long journey ahead and we just have to keep learning as we journey through life.
Yeah... although money was another motivating factor for the extra year at home. I'm grateful that I was able to save up enough by the time the second year was over, if not I would have been forced to stay back yet another year.
Omo that solar installation business is the real deal now
I think that’s sensible enough
Do it and I’m sure you won’t regret it
As in ehn... it seems that's what everyone is doing right now.
Thank you!
Taking a break is not a bad idea at all and this life is not a race as you have said, taking it step by step wouldn´t ruin things as long as you are focused and still have the plans in mind to further. Even after school, there are courses online who can take and learn within the space of a few months and become proficient in it, what we all need is determination.
Just to take things one step at a time, no rush, no pressure!
That is it.
Education as we all know today is very important for us and if we continue to study in the same way then we will definitely succeed in the next life here in our city. It's not like we have to study and study continuously. When we finish 16 classes, then studies are stopped for some time.
Yeah... one after the other, that's how it should be.
Yes.
Yes.
