I Have A Favorite Teacher!!!
When it comes to teaching, it is not something I can say a person is the best or the worst. Because while some people were born to teach, there were those who were destined for other things but life ended up putting them in a classroom. Still, every teacher I ever went through right from my primary school to Higher Institution has had a hand in one way or the other in making me who I am today. Teaching is not easy at all, I know that very well. It is especially not easy when you have to teach some students who seem hell-bent on not understanding a word you are saying. But then, since I don’t have a best or worst teacher, I do have most and least favorite. They are the ones that if I were to have the choice I would either want them to teach me again, or I would rather learn on my own. My primary school was sporadic, I was always jumping from one school to the other due to location issues and the like. So I can’t really remember my teachers from those days. However, my secondary education was more steady and that is where I met my favorite teacher. And he goes by Pastor Paul. One of the very best teachers in this world. He took us Maths and boy, did this man finish work! He made learning Maths so easy and interesting that it was difficult for you to not understand it. He had a hand in opening up my brain and helping me to understand the subject better. And as if that was not enough, he carried the school fellowship on his head and made sure that Christian students were more active in it. Most government schools have chapels and mosques for the Christian and Muslim students, so he was always advocating for us to be more active in fellowship. He took us Maths during SS2 and SS3, during our normal end-of-the-term exams, and also during WAEC, he organized special lessons for us. This was on his own and not with the school. Early in the morning before assembly, there will be about an hour of intense maths solving. He also organized prayers and fasting services for final-year students. With someone like him, success is sure because no matter where you are coming from there is enough firepower to ginger. After I graduated from the school, I learned that he became the Principal of the Junior Secondary School in our compound. I was happy to hear that. After a few years, I lost his contact when I changed phones and he doesn’t seem to be active on social media. But I’m sure one day we will reconnect. And now… my least favorite teacher is actually not a teacher. I met him when I gained admission. I know that in Higher Institutions, we get lecturers and not teachers. I know very well that there is a difference between teaching and lecturing, but it was as if this man was doing neither. My coursemates and I used to call him BBC. When he comes to class, he would simply open his textbook and begin to read it aloud. That is all he did, when he was done reading he would close it up and that would be the end of the class. No explanation or anything, or maybe the reading is the explanation. The only other thing he did was to draw when necessary. But taking his time to teach and explain, you won’t see this man there. But then, if I’m being honest, the man’s course is one of the best and easiest to pass. He doesn’t set tough questions at all, it is rare for him to have carryover students and if he does have them, know that the fault is not from him. When he gives an Area of Concentration, he sticks to it. he doesn’t make his questions complex and limit understanding. So, in a way, he’s also a favorite of mine. Because of his easy exams that semester. If it was with passing exams, then he was good for it. But if it was for learning from his lecture, you’ll be better off listening to breaking news. Our teachers are people who took out their time to teach us and groom us. We should always appreciate them. The teaching profession is one I don’t think I’ll be going into, at least I don’t think so yet. But I believe everyone that is in that profession should be celebrated. Especially my Mom, the greatest teacher on earth!

Teaching is not easy and we need to appreciate the ones who truly took it to their hearts to make sure we become the best while understanding things. The second lecturer that took you is just the same as the woman I talked about in my post. She will also walk into the hall, read and dictate straight from the textbook and once it´s 2 hours, she leaves with no explanation.
We need to appreciate our teachers and lecturers...
Omo... these people ehn... Who knows what goes through their minds when they do like this, they probably believe they imparted knowledge.
But then, we do need to appreciate our teachers.

What a sweet world this world would be if all Lecturers that "read out text book" turn to be like this man.
All the Lecturers I know that read out textbook happen to be the baddest when it comes to examination Questions
Yeah... we were really lucky. We saw the man as someone that didn't really like to stress himself. It was evident in the way he taught and also the way he set his exams.

I have done teaching job and I can say it's one of the toughest Job. Impacting knowledge to the learners isn't an easy peasy task as we have different types of learners, slow, average and fast learners. And so I try my possible best to appreciate every dedicated teachers out there. Your math teacher did amazing
I hope you get to meet him one day again
I really hope so as well, teaching is tough because you need to carry everyone along at the same pace, even though everyone learns at different paces. That is a mark of a great teacher.
