Flexible Like Mad!!!
Omo… my work life is flexible like mad! It’s no secret that I’m a remote worker and ever since I graduated from school, things have gotten even more remote for me. One of the best things about this is the fact that I don’t have to stick to a particular schedule, my routine isn’t rigid in the sense that I have to do one particular thing at one particular time of the day.
Instead, I get to choose my timing. As long as I’m going to do that stuff, I’m free to do it whenever I want to. What matters is that it gets done before the deadline and it’s done properly. This is why I enjoy my job so much. There really is no stress for me. I choose when I wake up and I choose when I take my breaks. Sometimes, if I’m enjoying what I’m writing, I could write for hours on end before stopping. Other times when I’m not really feeling it, I’ll just stop mid-way and go to bed. This has happened so many times.
Back when I was in school, the only reason I was able to manage a balance between my school life and my work life was due to how flexible it was. My school routine was rigid, but since my work routine wasn’t, I had to build my work around my school time. I mastered my lecture times so that when I didn’t have them I could spend them working. I utilized my evenings to do more work so that no matter what, I always delivered.
Was any of this easy? Not in the least. But was it worth it? Hell yeah. It was stressful to keep up the balance in both aspects of my life, but I made it work. And now, with school life somewhat behind me, I have so much ahead of me to accomplish. I can decide to wake up by 1 PM in the afternoon or wake up by 6 am in the morning, there’s no one to pressure me.
But then, all this flexibility can really get into one’s head. If you’re not disciplined, you’ll easily lose focus. Which is something I suffer from time to time. Getting to leave the house every day to go out to hustle or to a job breeds a form of discipline. Waking up at a particular part of the day and getting to work at a set time to mark register. It breeds discipline. I don’t have all that, and inculcating it can be hard. In my case, if you’re not careful, you can spend the entire day at home doing nothing even when you have so many jobs to be done. You’d keep postponing your work to the next hour and the next. Next thing you know, it’s too late for you to do anything major. Yeah, I’ve been there as well.
These days, I usually wake up as early as six or seven in the morning, regardless of how late I slept the previous night. That’s when my day officially begins and that’s also when I start working. However, because in a single day, I would have quite a number of things to write, I get to separate each of them in a way that I’d be able to accommodate them all.
Honestly, I love the work I do. I love the freedom it gives me and I love the fact that it’s been able to sustain me so far. Getting to always stay home away from this devilish sun that’s always torturing everybody will always be bae to me. Also not being chained to one routine where I have to do the same boring thing every single day is also liberating. Every day brings with it something new, and when I open my eyes each morning, I’m always excited to find out what the new thing for that day will be.
That’s the beauty of it all.

I smile at the title..I can say that for me also. So flexible like mad. Lol
Working remotely has a big flexibility in it and I enjoy working at my own pace with no boss screaming on top of my head or querying me constantly. I love the fact that I could do my work whenever I want and still feel productive about it. It's so fun changing routines and not sticking to one particular routine daily until you get tired of everything.
It means you are very much flexible at the current time as you get rid of school recently. I am also in the similar state but it seems my good days are going to end as the class of Master's degree will start next week.
