Divorce Drama!!!

Over the last couple of days, the internet has been abuzz with news of 2face Idibia’s possible divorce from his long time wife Annie. For fans and critics who have always followed the couple’s story, we know that there has always been one thing or the other to talk about when it came to the two personalities. Their relationship was nothing but controversial and just about everything that they did was always in the news.

As expected, fans picked sides. There were those who supported 2face, the popular musician, and there were those who were only on the side of his wife. It was always a sensational topic and blogs were always quick to pounce on their stories, embellishing the stories whichever way they deemed fit, all for the clicks.

However, the subject of my post today is not about 2face and his marriage drama, personally, how they go about all that is none of my business. My main focus though is on the fans and the critics who have been following the story for years an s far, have become somewhat invested in them. It’s the way many people are reacting to all this and the opinions that are being shared regarding it all that’s really my bone of contention today.

Some years back when there was a similar issue between the couple, fans of the lady had clamored for her to divorce 2face and leave the relationship. Well, in their defense, there as allegedly a number of reasons why that would have been a smart move on her part. There were just so much baby mama dramas that staying on in the relationship didn’t make sense. Allegedly.

However, a few days back, news emerged that 2face himself was looking to divorce her, and now, the same people who had clamored for Annie to dump him, are bashing him for choosing to do the very thing they wanted their fave to do. There are currently so many takes that are burning up the internet at the moment. As in ehn, if you’re following every single one of them, your eyes would simply glaze over from it all.

It can be quite frustrating how people can choose to be blind to certain things. They just decide what they want to see and block out everything else that they’re not interested in. And in this case, they’re conveniently forgetting that a lot of the choices Annie made while married to the superstar were hers. She chose to stay with him despite having several babymamas, she chose to stay with him even after several cheating allegations hit the airwaves. She still chose to stay with him when her own and clamored for her to leave him.

It’s probably love that caused all that behavior, I can’t say for sure. However, critics are now out for 2faces head because they feel that he had no right to divorce her after everything that she endured just to be with him.

So, my dear friends, that is my bone of contention with all this. The double standard of it all. Personally I don’t have an opinion on what either of the couple should do. I don’t think there is anything that they could do that will make me enjoy the superstar’s song any less. I’ll still be his fan, no matter what happens. As long as he doesn’t do anything illegal, sha.

And as always, the couple in question would do their thing and life would definitely go on. We’d still be here though, stanning the all from the safety of our bed and behind our screens.
