Addiction: It's All On You...
A lot of the things that people get addicted to are usually bad enough to ruin their lives, they keep on doing it, over and over again until they find out that they can’t do without it. Addictions start out as something harmless and you believe you have control over it, believe you can easily stop whenever you want. But for many people, when you begin to get hooked, even you will have no idea. You will just realize one day when you try to quit that it is not as easy as you had envisioned. And then, that is when the real battle starts. How it ends from that point will determine the rest of your life. Because that is what will determine if your addiction will take over your life, or if you will finally seize control. When we think about it, a lot of the things that are addictive are actually easy to get, except for hard drugs. That is regulated and illegal, even though it does not stop the spread. At least an effort is being made. But then, we have substances like alcohol and cigarettes that are highly addictive and can make people do really crazy things just to get to the bottom of the bottle. Besides that, we also have addictive acts like porn, gambling, betting and what have you. These are acts that provide momentary “high” that always make sure to leave you worse off than before you did them. In the case of gambling, a lot of people have lost their entire life savings, stolen from family and friends, and ruined valuable relationships just to feed this addiction. People have lost jobs and opportunities, and lives have been destroyed because of one addiction or the other. But yet, somehow, these things are still legal. Casinos are very much legal, and cigarette and alcohol companies still push their products out into the market every day even though they warn you to use them responsibly. Studios that shoot porn are still active, hell more and more keep cropping up every day. Why is this? Why is it just hard drugs that are deemed illegal of the lot? Well, it’s a free world. And I believe that answers everything. It is rare for people addicted to things like gambling, drinking, and porn to pick up guns and rob people. When you’re drunk, you are more of a danger to yourself than you are to others. Gambling sinks you deeper and deeper into debt. This might place ideas in your head, but before it will get to that point it will take a lot of doing. It is not often people actually die from these particular addictions. And as I said, it’s a free country. Everyone is allowed to live their lives as they see fit. If a person is hell-bent on destroying it, the government is not obligated to step in. Unless the individual looks like they want to end their life. Or a life. And that is why hard drugs are illegal. They have a higher death rate than any other addiction. People will do and undo just to get their next fix, nothing is off limits as long as it will get them that high. From overdose to crackhead muggings and dealer tussles, people are just always fighting each other when it comes to drugs. Hence the iron hand used on drugs. So, my dear friends, what am I saying here? Is it that the other forms of addictions are better? Hell no! No addiction is good in any way. I’m just saying that no one cares about you, especially not your government. You can destroy your life for all they care, as long as you don’t try to take it, then you’re good. Keep on gambling, and keep on sinking lower and lower into debt. The company will keep on getting rich and paying taxes to the government, and there will be more laws protecting them. It’s just life. I’m not saying that these companies are bad, they are also working for a living. I’m only saying that if you are faced with an addiction, the only person that can get you out of it is you! The only person you need is you! It doesn’t matter what the addiction is or how long you’ve been battling it, as long as you are still alive, then you can overcome it. Besides, there is a bright side to being at the lowest point in your life. The only place to go is up. So, do not despair. A lot of us are battling our own demons, addictions, challenges, and the like. We all put on smiling faces and turn up as if all is well with the world. So, just know that you are not alone in this battle. Take strength from that and begin your journey to recovery today!

Very true bro most of the things we are addicted to are the bad things that will end up destroying us.
Both good and bad addictions aren´t good for us because excess of something damages one´s health. At the end of the day, it is us that will make a balance and let things be moderate so it doesn´t eat us up at an early stage.
Just like staying on your phone, though you are using it to make money, when you are so much addicted to it that it keeps you away from other good things you should get doing, things will get ruined if not controlled on time.
Indeed... no matter how good something is, once it's in excess, it becomes bad. You raise a valid point, we just have to learn how to bring moderation. That's the only way.
Thank you for reading.
I also think that addiction can't bring any positive results. I think most people get addicted because of frustration and various kind of pressure. Besides, I think addiction not only destroy one's life but also the whole family members life.
No matter the intention and how good it is, once it becomes an addiction, it becomes bad for us.
Addiction really destroys lives, we have to take special care.
Thank you for reading.
Addictions can be very damaging, regardless how satisfying it might be at times, finding a way out of it is very important.
