Sacred Heart of Jesus Church (En/ Es)

Since I was a little girl when I started touring the city with my parents and friends, until today I have visited several religious temples that have caught my attention, some for their imposing, others for their beauty, some for the history behind them and many others for their beautiful architecture; among these religious temples, is the church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

From the moment you observe it, you realize its antiquity, by the details that you can see at a glance, from the large old wooden doors, apart presenting its neo-Gothic style in all the features that we can see, with its 3 naves, surrounded by high ceilings illuminated with large vintage lamps, as this church dates from the early decades of the twentieth century, specifically inaugurated on November 9, 1892 by Bishop Gregorio Rodriguez Obregon. Some time later, he ceded to the Dominican Fathers his right of patronage over the temple.

Besides, the temple has its large stained glass windows full of beautiful colors. Its three wings that receive the public are full of luminosity along with its beautiful polished wooden benches. But my favorite part is its central nave, because you can see the main altar, which stands out amidst beautiful sculptures and Gothic decoration. It is the first thing you see when you enter the temple, your gaze goes straight down that wide aisle to the end of it; from there on is that you start to detail everything else, at least in my case. It seems that you enter another time where beauty, peace and a silence that imposes respect reigns.

When I went in to take my pictures, I did it very discreetly, since they were in full mass, but for me it was like capturing the essence of this place of prayer, to transmit it to all of you. These religious sites always have the gift of attracting me like a bee to honey, regardless of whether they are of any faith or religion. As long as they are beautiful, I will be there, because what is delicate and beautiful must be shared.

All temples have their history and this one was no exception, since its construction and architecture was in the hands of two architects: the first one Luis Muñoz Tébar in its origins and in its second stage for the remodeling of its facade by Jan Goreck. It remains in the hands of the Dominican Fathers, as originally thought. I have passed through these spaces all my life, but I had never stopped to detail it as it is in reality, as on this occasion and you always learn something new, as its origins, history to be able to share my content with property.

I love, also to share my new knowledge and discoveries with my acquaintances and family; that although always many of these places, have been there, I had not really seen it in all its splendor, just enjoying its beauty and tranquility. Desde pequeña que empecé a recorrer la ciudad de mano de mis padres y amigos, hasta la fecha actual he visitado varios templos religiosos que han llamado mi atención, algunos por lo imponentes, otros por su belleza, algunos por la historia que hay detrás de ellos y muchos otros por su hermosa arquitectura; entre estos templos religiosos, está la iglesia del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús.

Desde que la observas, te das cuenta de su antigüedad, por los detalles que puedes observar a simple vista, desde las grandes puertas antiguas de madera, aparte presentando su estilo neogótico en todas las características que podemos visualizar, con sus 3 naves, rodeadas de altos techos iluminados con grandes lámparas de época, ya que esta iglesia data desde las primeras décadas del siglo XX, específicamente se inaugura el 9 de noviembre de 1892 por El obispo Gregorio Rodríguez Obregón. Tiempo después, él le cedió a los padres dominicos su derecho de patronato sobre el templo.

Aparte, el templo tiene sus grandes vitrales llenos de hermosos colores. Sus tres alas que reciben al público, están llenas de luminosidad junto a sus bellas banquetas de madera pulida. Pero mi parte favorita, es su nave central, porque se puede ver el altar principal, que destaca en medio de hermosas esculturas y decoración gótica. Es lo primero que vez al entrar al templo, tu mirada se va directo por todo ese amplio pasillo hasta el final de este; de allí en adelante es que empiezas a detallar todo lo demás, por lo menos en mi caso. Pareciera que entras a otro tiempo donde reina la belleza, la paz y un silencio que impone respeto.

Cuando entré a tomar mis fotos, lo hice muy discretamente, ya que estaban en plena misa, pero para mí fue como capturar la esencia de este lugar de oración, para transmitírsela a todos ustedes. Estos sitios religiosos, siempre tienen el don de atraerme como la abeja a la miel, independientemente que sean de cualquier fe o religión. Mientras sean hermosos, allí estaré yo, porque lo que es delicado y bello, se debe compartir.

Todos los templos tienen su historia y este no fue la excepción, pues su construcción y arquitectura estuvo a manos de dos arquitectos: el primero Luis Muñoz Tébar en sus orígenes y en su segunda etapa para la remodelación de su fachada por Jan Goreck. Permanece en manos de los padres dominicos, como se pensó en un principio. Por estos espacios he pasado toda mi vida, pero nunca me había detenido a detallarla cómo es en realidad, como en esta ocasión y siempre se aprende algo nuevo, como sus orígenes, historia para poder compartir mi contenido con propiedad.

Me encanta, también compartir mis nuevos conocimientos y descubrimientos con mis conocidos y familia; que aunque siempre muchos de estos lugares, han estado allí, no lo había visto realmente en todo su esplendor, solo disfrutando de su belleza y tranquilidad.
