The gown I made for this special occasion, me and my prins-sons at the MSC gala

I am sharing all the pictures that
hadn’t make it to a #needleworkmonday blog on Hive already.

The belt i made from a ribbon with attached lace. The lace looked a lot like the lace from the fabric for the dress so I bought a clip and made this.
Its a shove belt so not to tight but yet a eyecatcher for the front of the dress.

The same ribbon I bought for the shoulder straps. They were in line with the V back I sewed from the zipper on the backside.
Small but elegant straps and very much needed.

Its attached to the lace and lining from the dress.

I choose to do a lining but not attach it to the front lace, so the layers are loose from eachother. I like the flowy endresult more that sewed all together.
So this what I went for to get the endresult I wanted,
without knowing if it would be the best way.

Here is the belt again up close.

I sewed with white thick yarn by hand ,
the line I wanted for the lining and than used the sewing machine to sew with black to get the lace on the inner lining.

Here is the zipper inset and the V line for the back.
Where the small straps are gonna be later.
I use my Singer sewing machine who I love.

I bought two buckles and used the diamond one. In silver for the best way again as I said to see it on the dress. In my waiste.

The trimming of lace at the end of the dress is 13 cm wide and is cut round. I used blue crayon to get the lace pattern to be the best overlay so you would not see where I had sewn.
I also dont use normal scissors, I use a small pointed one to get the lace cut really exact.

The total amount is 3 square of lace fabric and 1,5 For the inner lining skirt dress.

The inner skirt dress I made from a bit thicker polyester is also cut round at the end, i sew it to the inside and later cut it along the sewing line.

Ofcourse I first pinn it with needles and I also ironed it befor it was under the sewing machine. Not nesseccary but i like it that way.

I sewed the zipper till the top and than flipped the lace and lining with the zipper in a triangel to teh inside and again used white yarn to mark the sewing line and than used the sewing machine again.

Again the pins to get the round shape at the end of the dress, ansd this will be the part on my shoes near the ground.

In some places is see through, but when I am wearing it its onto- of the black underskirt so no flesh is showing.

Mum is helping me, because the length of the train is not do able alone. And she is also sewing with the white thread.

In the bustier I used white cheap cotton. I used it to make it a bit tighter and its in between so wou dont see the white.

When I was finished, I made a mistake and left the lining in the front to long so I had to make it shorter. Better like this than to short at once. Yes those are my feet.

So another sewing line this time without white yarn.

Round again, thesis how it looks before ironing.

Fitting the belt on a little black dress. I made it for the gala dress but because its separate I can also use it on other dresses.

Tadaaaaa thats me , ofshoulder lace line and with straps.

Last trim, after fitting.

And the V in the back shaped through the zipper.

Here I have to cut some gauze. There i used the bird shaped scissors I photographed earlier , for and it cuts really preside.
Also you only see it when you lay it on your skin or a white plate, because black on black , man thats is hard after days.
That’ll god this was a project I started months ago.

The dress from the side.

The lovely train. I wanted a wedding gown train and it looks so cool.

With the round Binding at the bottom there were some pieces of lace flowers bigger than the sewing line, so i did those little pieces by hand with a needle.

This is after, you dont see its done by hand.
