Red velvet cake baking for a lost bet
Mum life, and mum love!
D lost a bet with his teacher and the stake was baking a cake. So today he came home and said that he lost and now “WE” have to bake a cake.
It’s fun but the jet lag is still in my legs and after cooking I wanted to take a shower and just lay on the couch. But who can say no to those puppy eyes and that cute face. My son is so sweet he even chose a red velvet cake!!! Wow the most easy one NOTTT!!
But a bet is a bet and if he was helping we would not have to be busy baking for a long time. We bought a package from the supermarket that just needed adding three ingredients so the groceries were picked up quick together with the nasi goreng I planned to make for dinner.
It’s a bend called Dr.Oetker and I think it’s Dutch or German from origin, anyway a well known brand here in Holland and I admitt it never failed before. I think D choose this one because he likes red velvet. Whenever we can he orders it.
Before we start we pre heat the oven and watch the video on the package using the QRcode.
I had to help him with breaking the eggs.
While the process is ongoing it daunts me that the velvet red cake bet is something that kids can easily do. Indeed with some help or under suspicion of an adult but most can be done by himself.
Pretty good for teh future.
There is a mold for a great end result.
And I have to say it is looking good!
I hate that it will go to school hahaha.
Lucky teacher!
After it’s cooled down after it comes from the oven , the carton mold needs removing and thrown away.
It’s also time to make the stuffing. It’s a cheese kinda filling and really tasty.
The pictures during the proces,
And the dishes hahah
The baking, and the together baking time was great. No recipe needed just read the steps on the package box.
What a great.
I will let you know what D’s teacher thought and if he is still alive.
When you made it to this part of my blog thank you but we don’t take cake orders,

What a lucky teacher. My father-in-law loves red velvet cake. I like it too. Now I may have to bug my wife to make one for me.
Your cake has special character, I so want to taste it! Love this sharing. 💕
