Sports betting with Bozz: such a loser!
It was another week of loses for me. I think I might have finally hit that losing streak that @fullcoverbetting was talking about. The good thing is, it just takes one parlay win to turn things around. That or I just keep losing. Either way, I don't feel too bad about it. Anything above $50 in my account is house money at this point.
As you will see when I start throwing down my screenshots, I had a lot of parlays this past weekend that missed winning by just one leg. Then there were a couple that didn't hit a single leg. I almost appreciate those more than the ones where I narrowly missed winning some money. Of course the bets that didn't hit any legs were all on the Lions.
I really should have known better...
In the past I was mostly just using my FanDuel account, but I have started using my DraftKings a bit more lately. I don't have nearly as much money in that one, but it seems to have been winning a little more than the other one, so I will keep playing with it.
This was also one of the rare weeks that college football did better for me than the NFL. Who would have guessed! Actually, I take that back. NCAA went better for me on FanDuel and worse for me on DraftKings. Here, let me show you:
This was from my DraftKings account. As you can see, it was that bet on the Bills/Steelers that kept me alive last week on this account. I am still down from where I started on this account, but that $12 win gave me a bit more room to make some bets this week that will hopefully pay off.
Given how explosive the Lions offense has been, they really should have covered that bet in the middle. I guess it shouldn't be much of a shocker that they would get shut out and dash all of my hopes. I really hate the Lions sometimes...
For some reason I keep going back to those "Same Game Parlays"(SGP) even though they don't tend to pay off for me. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that he platform offers those and sometimes gives you special deals on them. For example, if you bet $5 on a SGP they will give you a $5 credit if it doesn't hit. It's their way of keeping you coming back I guess.
Let's take a look at how FanDuel went for me now:
Honestly, not much to say about these. They pretty much speak for themselves...
Western Michigan really screwed the pooch here. Against Eastern Michigan even. That never should have happened. Especially given how good the Broncos were looking against the Spartans. I guess that just really proves how much MSU sucks this year :(
Oddly enough, in the other parlay you can see it was Purdue and Maryland that screwed me over. Western Mich and Eastern Mich actually hit.
This was my only win on FanDuel this past weekend I think. Too bad it was only $7, but a win is a win. Given how well Michigan and Ohio State have been playing, it seemed like a no brainer for them to win by at least 14 points. Yeah yeah, I know I was betting against my Spartans on this one, but you have to take emotions out of it and be realistic right? Once again, you see that I was one leg shy of hitting the parlay. That five leg win would have been really nice...
This is where things really turned sour for a little bit. The Packers game as well as the Detroit game were not friendly to me when it came to same game parlays.
As I stated earlier, my Lions frustrations continued, and then Najee Harris screwed me over from another nice +2041 parlay.
Finally, we will end the week with some Monday night football heartbreak. Perhaps I should start paying attention to the players I am actually betting on instead of just throwing blind bets out there. Like I have said in the past though, I tend to trust the opinions of others better than my own when it comes to parlays.
I was talking to my brother in law the other day and he said he started listening to a sports betting podcast. I might need to get the name of that from him at some point!
I already have my bets in for Thursday night football. Will this be the week I turn things around?
When playing parlays loosing streaks are common and expected. The biggest challenge when this is happening is to stick to the plan and continue operation as normal.
Lot's of player tend to or increase the stake or add more games/bets or even higher odds in the parlays. Hoping to recover the losses with one win.
If this would be the case the bookies would all be bankrupt.
I do like a loosing parlay with one miss a little bit more than a loosing parleys with nothing correct. The result is the same for both, but the confidence level doesn't get a too big hit :)
Good luck with the next ones!
Thanks, I appreciate it. I am just doing the same thing I have been doing the other weeks. Maybe 5 to 10 parlays at $2 or so a piece. If one of them hits I am back to even. We will see what happens this weekend!
I hate those Same Game Parlays on DK.. I like betting the moneyline on under dog teams.. I took the NYG to beat GB last week.. I believe this week Dallas beats Philly
Those are the kind of bets that I started with. I built up my stack during college basketball season and now I am blowing it all on football!
Just thought I'd drop my NCAAF parlay here...
Nice, you did better than me, but I didn't do horrible. Just about back to even now!
