Sports Betting with Bozz: Been a busy week!
It's been a busy week of sports in case you missed it. Of course a busy week of sports also means a busy week of sports betting. I am not going to lie, I did pretty good this past week. Much of it was thanks to @fullcoverbetting (shortened to FCB later in the post). If you are looking to bet on some soccer and you aren't quite sure which way to go, check out his blog. He might not be right 100% of the time, but he is right often enough that you could end up in the black.
At least lately anyway. Betting is a streaky thing and as often as you can win, you can just as frequently lose. If you or a loved one has a gambling problem. Be sure to get help. There are a on of resources out there to help with this addiction.
Okay, now that my public service announcement is over, let's get to the results. Oddly enough, I didn't place any bets on Draft Kings this past week. That account is still sitting at $30 or so and I really need to figure out a way to start growing it. I kind of hate that I need to do pretty much everything through Fan Duel simply because that is where I have more money on hand.
As I said, I placed all of my bets on Fan Duel this past week. Unfortunately, the site is under maintenance right now, so I am going to have to pause writing this post until it is back up in about 1.5 hours.
Things got started pretty quickly with a 2 leg soccer bet last week thanks to the aforementioned FCB. I placed a two leg parlay on the Croatia/Brazil game and the Netherlands/Argentina game. It was a $1 bet and it ended up paying me $4.50. Every little bit adds up, so I am totally okay with that.
At this point the instinct is to bet more so you can win, more but that is where you really start losing. Best to just stick with the $1 bets and slowly build your way to the riches we all dream about.
As you can see, my next two bets didn't go as well. Washington lost to Gonzaga in what I thought was going to be a closer game. Likewise, Oklahoma wasn't able to beat out Arkansas, so I lost a couple of dollars there.
Finally, in this first batch we see that I placed a bet on Alabama to win over Houston. If you remember my post from the beginning of the week, that happened and I ended up winning $4.20. Given my losing bets that only puts me up about $6, but I will take $6 over losing every week!
Even though I haven't had the best luck betting on NFL football, I decided to give it a go. Since I am not throwing crazy money at these games, it is okay if I lose a dollar or two here and there. As you can see, that Vikings/Lions game really threw me. I should have just put my money on the Lions to win. That seemed far fetched at the time, but would have ended up giving me the win.
I think I actually placed two same game parlay bets on the Lions game. Neither of them hit, but as you will see in a second, one of them came close.
Thankfully, the Eagles/Giants game was very kind to me. I placed a $1 wager and ended up winning $11. Nothing wrong with that! I have a feeling if I am ever able to build up a decent stash again, I might go back to betting $2 on everything, but that is a ways off for now. Sticking to $1 bets seems to be my best move.
As you can see, the rest of the day Sunday was not too kind to me. There is the other parlay I placed on the Lions game. I missed a single leg that would have won me another $12. If only St. Brown had scored a touch down. Something that he has been doing just fine all season (except that one game). Oh well, I am bummed I lost this parlay, but I am still happy the Lions won.
I placed a bet on some college basketball that didn't pan out for me. Wisconsin beat Iowa, but Maryland didn't beat Tennessee. Finally, The Chiefs let me down in their game against Denver. It would have only been about $7, but it still would have been nice to pad my kitty.
Once again, I took FCB's advice and I placed a parlay bet on the Argentia/Croatia game. Actually, you will see two parlays here. One was built into the system and it is the one that failed. The other one that won is the one that was recommended by FCB. That gained me a nice $4.65 and I am super happy about that.
He has said that betting on the World Cup has been harder than betting on other matches. If that is the case, I can't wait to see his recommendations for those other matches. I feel like I am on a bit of a streak here and anything that is sure money sounds great to me.
Of course, if I end up losing it will be my own fault and not FCB's. I fully accept that.
Finally, I placed my own parlay on the France/Morocco game. I used some of the info I gathered from FCB and then I guessed on the rest of it. Two of the legs from FCB hit (France winning and over 1.5 goals), unfortunately, Mbappe didn't score and Giroud didn't take a shot on goal in each half.
That ended up costing me, but I am still up for the week, so I can't really complain. With college bowl season ramping up and the NFL charging towards the playoffs, I think there are going to be some good opportunities for big wins in the future.
Plus some random college basketball bets here and there.
I look forward to seeing how I am sitting at the end of the holiday season.
Check back to find out!
Thanks for the warm words! Betting always has hot and cold streaks!
I am learning that! Thanks again for the great advice!
