Bozz Family Fantasy Football Week 5: A narrow miss
Well, I thought this might be the week where someone finally handed my oldest niece her first loss in the family fantasy football league, but unfortunately, I fell short. I'm still really impressed with how well she is going for her first year playing with us.
It isn't that I doubt her knowledge or skill, it is just that I know she is very busy being a freshman in college and living that life. Between classes and softball practice, I am not sure where she finds the time to update her roster every week!
As of right now there are two players in the league that are undefeated. My oldest niece and my youngest brother in law. It will be interesting to see what happens when the two of them finally go head to head!
I was pretty okay going into Sunday night. It was actually a really close matchup between Bozz and The Dragons, but after Sunday it was all done. I had one player that failed to score any points Sunday night and with that my 115.24 points were set in stone. Meanwhile, my nieces team continued to go off well into Monday night racking her up nearly 150 points.
If you look at the original projection towards the bottom of the image, you can see it was going to be a close matchup to begin with. Who could have guessed how things would actually turn out.
I was actually feeling good after Thursday night was over and Denver had given me 14 points with their defense against the Colts. That's not a bad way to start your week quite honestly. Unfortunately, that is where things kind of fell apart.
Actually, I can't complain too much. 115 points is a pretty respectable score. It was actually the third highest score in the league last week. It would have given me a win against nine other teams had I been matched up against them.
Unfortunately, in this case, I wasn't.
Brady did pretty decent giving me nearly the 20 points per week that I have come to expect from a quarter back. Higgins didn't help me any by getting zero points, but you will see there wasn't anyone on my bench that could have helped either.
Davis from Buffalo was the big star this week and Henry form Tennessee came in at a close second.
Looking forward, I think it is time to clean a little house. I need a better kicker. Higgins might be getting the boot. I also need to focus on getting a better tight end. The two I have are doing terrible so far this season. I might even drop Miami's defense too. It will just depend on when Denver has a bye week.
As you can see, my nieces team just put up some monster numbers. How can you even compete against that?
As I said, my bench wouldn't have really helped me too much. Walker in instead of Harris would have been a smart move, but it still wouldn't have given me the points I needed to win. London might be finding a new home. Like I said, I might be doing a lot of house cleaning with my team this week. At this point in the season players should be finding their groove, not still struggling with their position.
On a good note, my wife won her game this past weekend. She didn't think she had much chance going into the weekend, but somehow, she pulled out the win over one of our nieces 102.32 to 96.82. I am really happy that she is doing decent this season. Her win settles her into 5th place right below me at 4th. If we can at maintain this, at least one of us might make it to the playoffs!
Do you have a fantasy team this year? How are they doing?
Let me know in the comments!
