Bozz Family Fantasy Football Week 4: Mayday Mayday!
If you have been following these posts this season, you know that I am doing absolutely horrible managing my team this year. If I were running a real time I would have been fired a long time ago. I had a glimmer of hope this past weekend as several of my non-existent players actually decided to show up. Unfortunately, the crux of my offense had their worst game of the past three years and that all but doomed me to another week of losing.
Another week of losing puts me solidly at 0 - 4 on the season. The good news is, I am not the only one at 0-4 this year. I have a sister in law who is also in the league and though I don't think she knows a ton about football, she always seems to do quite well in the league. Apparently, her luck has run out because we both find ourselves sitting in the bottom spots among our peers.
As you can see, I was actually kind of close this week. If my quarterback had showed up and actually put up the numbers he has been putting up, I probably would have won this week. That's two weeks now that I came really close to winning, but I just fell short.
If you can't tell, I am pretty bummed about it. @mrsbozz hasn't been doing much better this season either, but she at least has one win under her belt. Something I really wish I was able to say as well. This coming week, I face off against that sister in law who is down at the bottom with me, so heading into week six one of us is going to be 0-5 and the other one is finally going to have a mark in the win column. I really hope it's me. If it isn't, I might just have to quit before I embarrass myself any further.
As you can see, Allen was the weak point of my game this past weekend. He has been putting up close to 20 points per week as of late and for him to not even break 10 is just horrible. Metcalf had a decent showing, but I would like to see him closer to the 20 point mark as well.
Allen had a bad weekend, so Coleman did as well. That's the problem with having a QB and a wide receiver from the same team on your team. If they are on, you are in the money. If they are off, you are screwed!
Thomas with 15 points was a great showing and Conner with 17 points has me smiling all day. I'm not sad about any of that at all.
Elliot continued to underwhelm and I am happy to say that as of this moment he is no longer on my team. I traded him away yesterday and picked up Swift with the Bears. If history tells me anything, Elliott will start playing amazing now, so if he is out there in your league, you might want to pick him up. Usually about the time I finally drop players they start doing really well.
Bowers at tight end was kind of a disappointment, but I am not ready to give up on him yet. His scores haven't been horrible averaging me between 5 and 10 points per week.
I don't even know what to say about White. I actually dropped about three or four players this past week. I am hoping I picked the right ones.
McPherson continues to be great at kicker and Tennessee was a welcome change over my past defense scoring me 10 points. I had to drop them going into week 5 as they have a bye. I picked up The Bears and hopefully after this week I can swap back to the Titans. We will see.
As you can see, if I had played Goff instead of Allen, I would have easily won this week. Cooks continues to be a horrible pick and that is why I finally let him go along with Elliott. Arizona had a rough game against Washington otherwise I would have expected a bit better from Benson. It's going to be a tough call deciding who to play this coming weekend.
I really need a win.
