Bozz Family Fantasy Football Week 11: Am I a masochist?
Well, I am sure you can guess by the title how this week went for me with my fantasy football team. It's been downright brutal and it seems that no matter what I do, I just can't seem to get ahead. I actually had a decent score this week, my opponent just had a better one.
My sister in law got lucky. That's really the only way of looking at it. Actually, that's not true. I thought it was, but now that I look at it, I still wouldn't have beat her even if I had played my bench differently. Quite disappointing. I still stand by my other comment though, a score of 105 would have won me several weeks this year that I ended up losing. If I could pull 105 consistently each week, I wouldn't be mad at all.
I'm not exactly why my sister in law changed the name of her team to the "soft pretzels". It has zero relation to anything I know about her. I will have to ask her what is up with that when I see her at Thanksgiving. My name is based on a comment I made last week or the week before. It seems that I am definitely a glutton for punishment that I keep renewing our league each year.
Like I said, I am pretty happy with a score of 105. That would have won me many a week this season that I didn't even come close to that and I took the loss. 119 is a great score and as you will see, I didn't even stand a chance of beating it.
From a QB stand point, I had her totally outgunned. Allen put up and impressive 25 points, but as you will see I should have played Goff this week. Even then, I still would have been four points short of beating her. The WR slot is where she really picked up some points on me. 27.70 points from St. Brown catapulted her past me in no time.
Thomas had a decent game despite the Lions dominance. I look forward to seeing if he can improve on the 8.6 points next week. Downs also had a good game, but that 14 puts him at the minimum of what I would expect. Metcalf just came off an injury I think and he had a horrible game with 7 points.
Swift did decent, but that Green Bay defense was brutal. Meanwhile Allgeier was a joke with -.1 points. How do you even manage that? It's going to be likely he will be benched soon.
Bowers had a great game with 18 points. I can't complain about that at all. Meanwhile Tillman, McPherson, and Chicago Defense had pretty mediocre games.
As you can see from the bench, Goff had a monster game wit that 52 to 6 win over Jacksonville. You have to realize, he sat pretty much the whole fourth quarter, so that 34 points is even more impressive. As I said though, it still wouldn't have been enough to give me the win. I guess that helps me sleep a little better at night.
This coming week I face my niece who has a monster team and is sitting in the 3rd place spot. This is the same niece who had me beat after just two game the last time we played, so I am not sure how this is going to go.
