Bozz Family Fantasy Football Update: Making a U-Turn

Just when I think I am on the right path, something comes along and slaps me back to reality. That's what happened this past weekend with my fantasy football team. Coming off the big win from the week before I was feeling pretty dang good about my prospects for this week. I had some players that were on bye, so I had to pick up some new ones, but I wasn't too worried about how they might preform.

Little did I know, I needed to be more worried about my existing players. They did pretty horrible as you will see. It was a travesty all across the board. One that probably could have been avoided upon closer inspection.

It's pretty amazing how just a couple of tweaks can mean the difference between you winning or losing each week. Bench this player, play this guy, five points here, three points there... I wish there was a cheat sheet for it all, but unfortunately, I think it really just all comes down to luck. Despite what the magazines in the stores say and the websites that offer you fantasy advice for a fee. Sometimes it's easier to trust your gut.

Then again sometimes, your gut is full of crap!

As I was saying, I was feeling pretty good going into this contest against my sister in law, but as you can see, I fell just about ten points short of winning the week. The good news is, @mrsbozz won her match up, so she is still doing pretty good this season. In fact, she has taken over the top spot with only one loss on the season! Pretty impressive!

Jackson had a decent week at quarterback. I'd still like to see him hitting the 25 point average each week, but I can't really complain. In just a sec you will see that Goff on my bench didn't do much better.

Wilson put up a decent 9 points, but again, I would like to see that closer to 15 or 20 points each week. I know that might be asking a lot, but I think it is reasonable.

Moore was the big disappointment. It's not like I expect him to put up 41 points every week, but more than 5 points would have been nice. In fact, I kind of want to place sole blame for the loss this week on his shoulders. We have seen he can do better. He should do better.

Reynolds was a late pick up for me and although the 5 points isn't that much, it's better than the zero points I would have gotten by having a bye player in my starting roster.

Kamara seems to be getting a slow start, but I am okay with 10 points. That's at least a little respectable.

McLaughlin is another disappointment with 4.2 points. I really need my running backs to do better each week. I'm not going to win anymore games like this.

Kelce had a decent showing with 12 points, and Metcalf did alright with 6.9 points. That needs to be closer to 15 though.

The star of the week was my kicker Tucker with 19 points. Then there was my defense I swapped out last minute for Atlanta that only scored 5 points. Not a great week really.

I know I said that if I had played my bench things might have been different. Really, the only player that would have helped me out is Pittman and slightly Goff, but probably not enough to give me the win. What can I say, it was just a bad week. I hope that this week goes a little better. I really need to turn things around here and get on track to make it to the playoffs!
