your name fades

(1)

midsummer downpour
quenching my parched
passions

(2)

the construction outside
a mosquito in my air

(3)

before me mountains
at my feet an ant
and a pebble

(4)

all alone
in the sky tonight
the crescent moon

(5)

road and sky
one and the same
color of a mood

(6)

two glasses
touching each other
their ice does not melt

(7)

with each wave
your name fades
into the sea

Greetings @boxcarblue ,

Lovely post....

Beautiful photograph...anyone with a child can relate....just so very special!

The poetry speaks to the Right Lobe...the thinking part of the soul...I am grateful.

Cheers, Bleujay

Yes, handheld fireworks, a summertime staple in Japan. They’re fun to take pictures of. 😊

Right lobe poetry. That sounds like it could be a genre all its own.

Thank you for your kind reply.

Apologies...I meant to write 'photographs'....both are quite lovely.

Nicely done. To the mountains we are ants and giants to the ant and pebble... Life is a fleeting thing, and best to enjoy it while it lasts. Soon enough we'll all fade away...

That fading away feeling really becomes strong in middle age, doesn’t it? As the world you grew up with gets replaced by the new, I think encountering that fleeting feeling is inevitable.

It really does, I don't live in the world I grew up in, it no longer exists... As we age there's no way to avoid to that feeling unfortunately. The relative immortality of youth has passed us by!

I haven't heard from you in awhile now, I hope you aren't fading away too fast!

Very cool and what a great play on words, in the end life is short and at any moment we are going to fade away so to speak, thanks for sharing ♥

Thank you for reading and commenting. It’s funny how something so simple and playful (writing in the sand) can take on such a deeper meaning.

I love your photography. It's always a treat to open up your poems and let he images wash over me. really loved the way you expressed dimensions with the mountain and you and the ant and the pebble. I'd like to own a book of your work.

I’d like you to have a book of my poetry. 😊

Hopefully, some day this year I can make that happen. Maybe if I use my summer vacation time well, it can happen sooner rather than later.

Fine words once again, wonderful imagery you always conjure up.

before me mountains
at my feet an ant
and a pebble

Always good to remember our place, to be humbled xx
