MUSHROOM IN THE MIDDLE

It happened last year. On the 28th of December 2023.

(Enlargeable)

When I say "last year" it sounds like I'm talking about a long time ago but less than two weeks have passed since then, actually.
In this opening photograph, you can see the yellow autumn foliage of the Morus nigra tree.

(Enlargeable)

Here you can see one of the roads that lead through the pretty large suburban forest park called Busoler.
The forest of Busoler is situated right behind the last houses of a homonymous suburban neighborhood of Pula
Pula is for me the nearest city, only ten kilometers from where I live. When there is something I can't buy or do in Medulin, my hometown, I drive to Pula.

(Enlargeable)

Almost always after the shopping or whatever I have to do in the city is done, I take the opportunity to visit the forest park and take a few photographs along the way.
One of the entrances to Busoler is situated along the road that leads out of the city, towards a few villages and goes through my hometown as well.
That's where I usually enter the forest park.
In the above photograph, you can see the trunks of the tall Pinus brutia trees.

(Enlargeable)

More or less in the middle of my little journey through the forest, I came across a mushroom. That explains the title of this thing I'm trying to put together and publish. To be consistent with the theme of the mushroom in the middle, I decided to put the photographs that show the central mushroom, right in the middle of today's post.

Here I zoomed in a bit so you can take a better look at the top of the mushroom's cap. In the following photograph ...

(Enlargeable)

... the same mushroom is photographed from an angle that shows the white gills under the cap.
When it comes to the name of the species, I can tell you that this is the Lepiota subincarnata fruiting body. It's a poisonous mushroom.

(Enlargeable)

Here you can see a small clearing where a tree stood until recently.

(Enlargeable)

As I was exiting the forest the weather was changing from completely, uniformly cloudy to partially cloudy with occasional outbursts of sunlight.

(Enlargeable)

A man with a Bull Terrier whom I met earlier on my walk was also on his way out of the woods when I was unlocking my car.

AND THAT'S IT. AS ALWAYS HERE ON HIVE, THE PHOTOGRAPHS ARE MY WORK.

I see you had a great time exploring Busoler. I hope you were not picking any mushrooms along the way, especially not the poisonous ones like Lepiota subincarnata. Remember, I want you to stay healthy so you can always share more and more beautiful shots.

I can now see why you always have photos of insects and plants, as I was going through the Park with you, I just felt it teeming with Bio stuffs and stuffs you love photographing. Then the mushroom is right there in the middle, standing as a king in the midst of its subjects. Your neighbourhood is Natural, untempered with.

A walk in the park with my camera
snap snap snap
trees in my way
insects scamper to safety
in the forest's enclave
the little mushroom dancing
to the melody of Medulin
and villages nearby

Hahahaha.... Don't mind me, i didn't know what I was writing.

This is a great shot here brother, I love the picture of the mushroom, but funny aspect is that I haven't been able to taste the mushroom even after people do eat it

Great shots. The title fits perfectly with the content of the post. I find it a bit hard to recognize edible mushrooms from inedible ones, so I mostly stay away from consuming this mysterious plant :)

And it sounds strange to me when 2023 is called "last year". I looked twice if you wrote 2022 or 2023 😃

Oh nice! The second photo in the post, the one with the road where the foilage looks like it's covering the road! Hell I long for the day to walk down something similar... I don't know why but I like the idea of it... a natural canopy!

Also the second to last photo! Amazing colour and light in that photo! Nicely taken!

You went on a forest walk? I wouldn't dare, even if I would, I can't go alone😅

But how can one know a poisonous mushroom by looking at it? because I know some are eatable. That mushroom looks sick or is it because it is poisonous?

These are stunning pictures
I believe those mushrooms will not be edible to eat actually

These mushrooms are very good for our health if we know all about them, so we must consume them.
