A SHORT DRIVE THROUGH MY RAINY THOUGHTS
I love to drive in the rain. Watching the rain through the kitchen window, while the scent of coffee hangs in the air is great, but moving slowly through the wet city, encapsulated in the comfort of a car, is even better.
The photographs in this post were taken while driving with one hand on the steering wheel, while the other was busy holding and using the camera. This isn't an acceptable driving behavior, so unless you are a photo fanatic that just can't resist doing this kind of stuff from time to time, don't do it.

This drive happened in the winter of 2020. The winters here are dull and potentially very boring. They aren't really cold, but then, they aren't comfortably warm either.
There are quite a few things that I dislike about the winter, the lack of colorful insects and spiders being the first one on the list, but driving around through the sleepy atmosphere like the one presented here in the post, isn't among them.
As the wiper blades perform their monotone, rhythmic dance across the windshield ...
... the scenery changes ...
... from somber realism ...
... to elusive impressions.

From recent memories and new ideas ...
... to the vague, misty recollections and visions of stuff that may or may not have happened long ago ...
... and fragments of oneiric daydreaming that come seemingly out of nowhere.

Sometimes I dream of driving. I mean, like really dream while sleeping at night, not just daydream or fantasize, and sometimes those dreams involve a bit of rain too.
Sometimes the rain in the dreamland gets hard and won't stop, so the dream slowly turns into a diluvial nightmare.
Quite often, the awakening makes me forget those dreams ...
... but then, one fine rainy day, days or weeks further on the timeline ...
... I remember them in my car.
Once I dreamed of a party in the main square of my hometown. The place was unusually crowded with copies or clones of a bunch of people that I know. Maybe five or six originals were there in the crowd of hundreds.
It was like in a video game. A typical NPC reunion.
But then the rain started falling ...
... and the people started melting. Not entirely, though. Only the surface. The skin and clothes were dissolving and revealing another person and a different kind of apparel.
In the end, I found myself with a crowd of complete strangers, but at least each person was a distinct individual. In its appearance, at least. Since the dream soon turned into something completely different that I vaguely remember being about elephants with gorgeous butterfly wings in the place of ears, I didn't have time to talk with some of those people and find out how deep their individuality was.
Music always plays a big part during my rainy day drives.

There is always something coming out from the speakers in the doors ...
... and the notes are dancing all around me like sparrows around the powerlines.
I don't know much about music, can't read notes and stuff, so that's all I can tell you about the sound inside my car. The notes look a bit like birds. If you want them to look that way. If not, you can turn them into something else, I guess. Ants or fireflies, ad example.
Once I used to have plenty of fun while walking in the rain ...
... but I'm too lazy nowadays. And maybe a bit too old for that shit as well.
When it rains in Liznjan, the village a couple of kilometers from my hometown ...

... you can come across some spectacular puddles on the unpaved roads that lead to various beaches in the bay of Liznjan.
Sometimes I like to park the car in the port ...
... light an imaginary cigarette because I quit smoking the real ones long ago ...
... and spend some time watching the rain ...
... while some slow music produces jellyfish-shaped notes and sends them floating in the air.
Sometimes I open the window ...
... to get a bit of rain right in the face.
And that's it.
I mean, almost.
I don't have anything else to say ...

it looks a shame the trees almost fell because the wind and rain were so strong .. hopefully no one is a victim of this disaster .. thank you for the information brother , hopefully you are kept away from the disaster ..

Would be great if you make a timelapse/hyperlapse video with your car dvr while driving through the city/town.

Beautiful photos of the rainy atmosphere, the walk, the narrative and the images move us to accompany you on the journey .... the raindrops, the wet pavement, the mysterious sky ...... provokes us to share a delicious coffee ...or maybe more than one.

I saw that along the way your journey was pouring rain.
It has been raining in our place for the past few weeks.
I dislike driving in the rain. A lot of taxi drivers have to do that too so much so some of them will hide and rest so it's even more difficult to get a taxi when it rains here.
Sometimes even I dislike the rain.🙂 It isn't always idyllic like in this post.
