Personal blog: "A day of peace", by bonzopoe

Sometimes we forget the value of certain things such as tranquility and peace. Having days when there are no shocks, worries, pending that shake our soul. In those days the simplest things take on an unusual relevance, or perhaps, without the clouds of worries, the sunlight hits them directly and we can appreciate them in all their magnitude.
Today has been one of those days. Of those days that do not need anything extraordinary to be extraordinary. A day that since the sun came out, except for a bit of unusual cold, has been nothing more than a day that I have enjoyed to the fullest. So much so that even the cold has been an excuse to have a coffee and tucked up in bed, start reading as I haven't done for a long time.

My day has consisted simply of living: waking up, having breakfast, doing the household chores, solving a couple of work issues, having a delicious lunch, taking a nice bath, watching a movie, organizing my agenda and goals for the next week, reviewing my blogs and social networks, write, eat what was left of lunch, and put on music, prepare a coffee and go to bed to read, until sleep allows me.
A beautifully ordinary day, without worrying about having to go out and take all the necessary precautions to minimize the risks of contagion due to the Covid-19 pandemic. A day without meetings by Zoom, and similar platforms. A day without having to grade homework and more homework from my students. A day without having to prepare courses, because fortunately I am going to give courses that I have already given before. And a day without unforeseen events and problems to be solved. What more can you ask for in life?

Today I have lived a day of peace and tranquility. A day of the most routine, common and current. A day that has been an oasis in these rough waters in which we live today, in which the future is not for sure and going out into the street sometimes is still like playing Russian roulette. Today I have lived a very ordinary day, and for that I give thanks.
