Original poetry: "LOVE," by bonzopoe
Source
Love is one of the most recurrent themes in poetry, and in literature in general. Much has been written and will be written about it, and nothing will be enough, although everything will be valid in the vain attempt to describe it.
This text is one of many attempts to express part of what it means or may mean to some. It was originally written in Spanish, but has been modified and adapted to be read and understood in English. I hope you like it.

LOVE
in the shadow of the wax
that sculpts itself in the heat of its only vein,
caring for the one who makes ours beat.
instead of stormy nights.
Furtive glances that blush
when they are discovered
and dressed in mischievous laughter.
instead of screams that carry nothing.
Hugs that protect from the cold
and turn into diamond
sand castles.
extra kilos that no one counts,
mouthfuls confused
between tangling forks.
defects that in absence miss each other,
virtues that pamper each other.
Nights of laughter
and of falling asleep without realizing it.
That is love.
