Part of what's driving the issue is the bells and whistles that people have become accustomed to, all of which take memory space. I miss the days of writing "tight code" and centralizing on features that added the most value. It's make products more versatile, but at a cost that includes the need to upgrade hardware just to keep using certain software and apps.

You're very correct on this.
As it is now, the higher the quality of these techs, the more data is consumes in a flash. It's the world we found ourselves in
