Getting to know ''El pueblo de los Olleros'' ✨ | 📍 Ráquira - Boyacá. [ESP-ENG]

Hola amigos, feliz día! Espero que se encuentren muy bien y que hayan tenido un excelente fin de semana. Por aquí paso a compartirles un poco más de mi reciente viaje, que aunque el destino final era Villa de Leyva, pues quisimos darnos la oportunidad de conocer un municipio que queda bastante cerca, aproximadamente unos 45 minutos. Se trata de Ráquira o como es conocido también ''La ciudad de los olleros''

Y muchos se preguntarán ¿Cómo así que ciudad de los olleros? o ¿A qué se debe el nombre? Y es que debido a que este municipio es conocido por su tradición artesanal, especialmente en producción de cerámica y alfarería, recibe este apodo, más que todo por los indígenas de la zona, también es conocido como el ''Pueblo de los cazadores''.

Hello friends, happy day! I hope you are feeling well and that you had an excellent weekend. I would like to share with you a little bit more of my recent trip, although the final destination was Villa de Leyva, we wanted to give us the opportunity to visit a town that is quite close, about 45 minutes. It is Ráquira or as it is also known ''El pueblo de los olleros''.

And many will wonder how so village of los olleros? or what is the name? and is that because this town is known for its craft tradition, especially in production of pottery and pottery, receives this nickname, mostly by the indigenous people of the area, is also known as the ''Town of hunters''.

Como dije anteriormente, nuestro viaje duró 45 minutos y a penas llegamos al municipio pudimos entender a lo que se referían, todas sus calles están llenas de artesanías, pero lo que más me gustó o llamó la atención es que cada negocio esta pintado con colores bastantes vivos y hermosos. Por supuesto, que aprovechamos para entrar a la mayoría de los negocios y ver que ofrecían, todo se veía bastante lindo y muy bien elaborado, encontramos tazas, macetas, relojes, recordatorios en cerámica, ponchos y sombreros Colombianos, bisutería, piedras, entre muchísimas cosas más.

Algo muy famoso aquí o bueno, que pudimos también apreciar en la carretera mientras nos dirigíamos hacía el municipio es el helado de Arándanos y ¿Cómo no? Teníamos que probarlo, por mi parte, escogí uno de maracuyá que estaba demasiado rico, era bastante cremoso y refrescante. Mi suegra tuvo la oportunidad de probar el de Arándanos y créanme que ya entendemos porque es tan famoso, estaba super rico también.

As I said before, our trip lasted 45 minutes and as soon as we arrived at the town we could understand what they meant, all the streets are full of handicrafts, but what I liked the most or called my attention is that each business is painted with bright and beautiful colors. Of course, we took the opportunity to enter most of the stores and see what they had to offer, everything looked very nice and very well elaborated, we found mugs, pots, clocks, ceramic souvenirs, ponchos and Colombian hats, jewelry, stones, among many other things.

Something very famous here or well, that we could also appreciate on the road as we headed towards the town is the blueberry ice cream and how not? We had to try it, for my part, I chose a passion fruit one that was too rich, it was quite creamy and refreshing. My mother-in-law had the opportunity to try the blueberry one and believe me we understand why it is so famous, it was super yummy too.

Aunque es un lugar pequeño y su atractivo más que todo son las artesanías que encontramos en cada paso, también pudimos admirar un pequeño río que pasa por el pueblo y la parroquia San Antonio de la Pared donde tuvimos la oportunidad de entrar pero por respeto decidí no tomar fotos, es bastante pequeña pero muy visitada por sus habitantes y sobre todo, la han conservado muy bien.

En la plaza justo al frente de la iglesia y cerca de la Alcaldía, habían unas estatuas en cerámica bastante grandes que nos parecieron super llamativas, así que por supuesto, tomé una foto para el recuerdo.

Sin duda, pasear por este pequeño municipio fue interesante, cada artesanía era única y hermosa, en lo personal quedé enamorada de sus llamativos colores que hacían el pueblo más vivo y alegre. Although it is a small place and its main attraction are the handicrafts that we found at every step, we could also admire a small river that runs through the town and the parish San Antonio de la Pared where we had the opportunity to enter but out of respect I decided not to take pictures, it is quite small but very visited by its inhabitants and above all, they have preserved it very well.

In the square just in front of the church and near the Mayor's office, there were some rather large ceramic statues that we found super eye-catching, so of course, I took a picture for the memory.

Without a doubt, walking around this small town was interesting, each handicraft was unique and beautiful, personally I fell in love with its bright colors that made the town more alive and cheerful.
