A Bridge to Remember
Hello weekend!
This is a throwback weekend adventure I had with my sister and a cousin some years ago.
I remembered we hit the road to an adventure to the tallest bridge in the Philippines, the Agas-Agas Bridge in Southern Leyte. It was quite unplanned. I had a little chat with my cousin at home when he proposed that we go on a motorcycle adventure going to Southern Leyte to visit the place. He volunteered to drive the motorcycle so off we went together with my little sister.
Going there, travel was around an hour from our town to Sogod, Southern Leyte. The road was quite an adventure trip already with some curvy uphill drive along the way. After we arrived in Sogod, we travelled half an hour again going to the location of the bridge. As we drove up, we encountered a little obstacle as the weather becomes more wet, foggy and a little rainy. Not a very good idea to be travelling on a motorcycle if you don't like to get soaked in the rain and ruin your looks and attire. We had to stop for a while along the way to let the rain pass and waited it to stop before we proceeded.
THE ADVENTURE THEY'LL REMEMBER
Excited, we arrived at Agas-agas Bridge fully energized even after the tiring travel to get there.
A large name of the bridge was carved on the grass on a hill. There's a viewing deck that had to climb up to get an overlooking view of the bridge. A few steps to the viewdeck there's a part there where you could take a photo with the name of the bridge in full view. Of course, I didn't let the chance to pass without taking a photo of myself.
The bridge was built to connect two mountains. That part of the mountains were prone to landslide so the government built the bridge for easier transportation and to avoid more accidents to occur due to landslides.
The bridge was surrounded with mountain ranges. It was a vast green scenery all around. The air was chilly even when we arrived there when the sun was up around 10 am. It was such a relaxing scenery. The cold air I breathed seemed to cleanse my lungs.
The exciting part of this trip was the superman zipline adventure ride. It was something I wanted to experience. I love this kind of adrenalin rushing adventures and more often than not I take on the challenge. The zipline was a 880-meter ride passing above the bridge. A literal manifestation of that popular metaphor "hanging by a thread".
But when I asked how much was the ride, I was short of my budget. I can only let two people to try zipline. I decided to let my sister and cousin do it since they haven't tried any zipline line yet. I was as excited as they were even when I was only there to watch them challenge themselves. 😆 I also felt how nervous they were when the staff started to put on the safety gears.
I could hear the loud screams they made as they took off. I could only watch in amusement. 😆😆😆
When they came back from the ride, I asked them how was the experience. I could see on their pale faces they were still shaking a bit. It was plain to see a bit of regret on their faces and the first words that came out from their mouths was "we'll never do it again!". I was laughing hard.
After the unforgettable asventure ride we went on a taking pictures spree down the bridge. But before we went down, I could't help but had my photo taken with this wonderful sight.
We went down to walk on that record breaker and historic bridge. There weren't so many vehicles that passed by so it was a little safe walking along the sidewalks.
We went down to where the zipline riders landed. We had a full frame photo view of the whole bridge. You can see the height of the bridge from this viewpoint. It was majestic!
It was indeed and great weekend for us. Glad my sister and cousin tried the zipline because a year or two after, it was no longer operational. That experience surely did mark their visit here.

What a lovely place! I would love to walk across that bridge and try the zipline too. Nice memories.
It was a lovely place, yes. Really worth the time going there. And talked about the zipline, I still had a little regret of not trying. It was the highest and longest zipline I could have tried.
Thank you for dropping by.
I really love the experience too. If wishes were horses. ..
I love adventure, this memory would surly last long on them.
I really love this kind of adventure. Zip Lining makes me feel nervous and happy at the same time. This is a great place indeed :)
Indeed teacherlyn, a great place to visit and to experience this kind of adventure. Glad we went there when the zipline was still operational. Hope you get to experience more adventure too
Have a wonderful day and thanks for dropping.
It was a nice view. Hope the zipline is always safe for all riders because as I see the end line is quite far.
It is no longer operational. Maybe for safety reasons. Yes, it was almost a kilometer long and very high. The greatest zipline adventure one could try.
A wonderful and nice adventure you and your friends embarked upon. This is really fantastic, the location, the joy of walking across the bridge, the extra ordinary green vegetations and more can't be forgotten in a hurry.
I'm amazed by this post.
Thank you for the visit @iykewatch12. Yes it was fun and we really enjoyed this adventure. Not very common place to have this kind of adventure. 😁

Wow, I love adventure travel with motorcycle, I can ride it for more than four hours but am scared of height, this is a rugged adventure.
It's nice to use motorcycle. It can take you anywhere. You should try this kind of adventure to conquer your fear of heights. 😁
Like serious, I think I have to give it a try maybe in the nearest future.
Yes that would be exciting. You can do it!
