Splinterlands Social Media Challenge - Theme: Baron's Bounty Bitcoin Halving Promo Event!
Hello! This week, a special event happened in Splinterlands. The 2 Bitcoin Halving Promo cards, Baron Fyatt and Henchling Enforcer, went on sale yesterday, and let's see what does the card does. I would also talk about my thoughts for this event and my strategies about buying cards. But first, let's look at the cards.
Cards Information
The first card to look is Baron Fyatt, which sounds like "Bar On Fiat" that is definitely not a coincidence. This monster is a dual-element monster: that means it could be used from death or fire element. It costs 31,250 DEC to buy, but you could reduce the cost by Vouchers(50 DEC for each voucher) up to 50% of the total cost. That would make this card cost around $24 at the time of writing this post, which is definitely not low, however at the market you could buy it at a lower price.
(15650 DEC: $13.6, 312 VOUCHERS: $10.7)
If you look at the card's stats, it has 1 magic attack, 2 speed, 6 health and the halving ability from LV 1 which reduces the damaged monster's attack by half when it successfully attacks. With the scattershot ability combined, it could reduce the monster's attack at the backline.
At LV 2, it gains a magic attack, making this monster to have 2 magic attack that would be useful in many ways, but it does not gain any new abilities. However, LV 3 gives this card ambush which enables this card to attack before the game starts, making this card stronger.
I really don't think the extra Blind at LV 4 is really important because of the price, however if you have the budget you would likely want to get it.
The next card is Henchling Enforcer. It is a Rare card, and it is also a dual-element monster, Life and Water. It costs 3,150 DEC to buy, making this card more affordable to more players. Same with baron Fyatt, VOUCHERS can be used to reduce the price of this card. Therefore the price of this card would be around $2.4 per card, which is also 1/10 of Baron Fyatt's price.
(1565 DEC: $1.36, 31 VOUCHERS: $1.07)
At the base level it has 2 ranged attacks, 3 speed, 1 armor and 3 health and also Halving ability. LV 2 is the best upgrade for low budget players since it gains another ranged attack which could be huge.
After levelling this card up it would gain True Strike at Level 4. Having True Strike would be really important for this card since the halving effect only works when it successfully hits, and sometimes this card would miss the attack and therefore being able to do less things. But for some players it would be also expensive.
At the more higher levels, it would gain Camouflage at LV 7, and another Ranged attack at MAX Level. Camouflage would be good for this card to compensate with the low health.
Event Information
The Baron's Bounty currently has 13 days left. You would most likely to buy more cards at the start of the event because of Multipliers which would be explained below.
There would be a lucky draw for this event, and every 10,000 point would give you a chance to get one of those prizes. 1 DEC spent would give you 3 point, which would be decreased over time.
If you look at the prizes, there are 500 PLOT tokens and 20 RUNIs. I would feel really good to get one of the prizes but the chances are definitely going to be tough. Other prizes include Packs from the older sets.
Also, if you are able to climb the leaderboard, you would get titles and extra cards. More information about this event could be found HERE.
What did I buy?
I didn't had enough savings for Baron Fyatt, so I went for Henchling Enforcer. However I didn't want to spend too much so I went for 2 cards which would give me 1 Shot for the event. Surprisingly, I got a GF card! With the 2 cards the chances were only around 8%. I was really happy with it since GF cards come at higher levels and it allowed me to use this card with 1 extra attack. I would also have a chance to earn some extra prizes but the chances seem extremely low...
