Making Lavender Lemon Jelly!

I've been growing Lavender for 10, 15 years? Something like that. But this yer, was a first for me! I finally made something edible with the lavender I've been growing for more than a decade. this Lavender Lemon Jelly goes great with cream cheese on bagels, served on goat cheese, with crackers! Gardens are in New England, zone 7a and 7b.

How to Make the BEST LAVENDER LEMON JELLY!

I started by snapping off the dried flowers, after they had bloomed. Inside these buds are both the bud and the tiny Lavender Seeds. I needed about 1/2 cup of buds. This jelly goes great on bagel and cream cheese. On a log of goat cheese, as an appetizer, too.

Most of you know, I prefer to grow my own food, locally. It's healthier for my family, and for the planet. I know what goes into my foods, and what chemicals are NOT in my food. Also, It cuts down on carbon emissions, less trucking, planes, trains, and boats, to get fresh foods to my table.

And that makes me smile... better for the planet, better for my own family.

I have to admit I've never tried lemon jelly. This looks interesting. Is it sweet or does it retain some of the lemon's sourness?

Love the labels 🙂 smells amazing 😜 anything that starts with 4 cups sugar is good with me haha We made some jalapeno jelly kind of more like a sweet pepper sauce... no pectin but I am loving it. Great for all the same kind of uses you mentioned. I also like to add it into fried rice
