WOO! What Happened to Sellix.io? The FBI’s Cybercrime Crackdown Explained!

(Edited)

A Big Hello to all WOO Fans! 🥳🥳🥳 WOO!

It’s not every day that a WOO-related announcement involves the FBI, but here we are. If you’ve been wondering what exactly happened to Sellix.io and why it got seized, let’s break it down.

On January 29, the FBI, along with several international law enforcement agencies, took down multiple cybercrime forums and marketplaces. The biggest names caught in the sweep included:

  • Cracked.io & Nulled.to – Major forums for stolen credentials, password dumps, and hacking tools.
  • Sellix.io – An e-commerce platform that, unfortunately, became a hotspot for selling illicit goods.
  • StarkRDP – A service that allowed hackers to mask their digital footprints while carrying out attacks.

Law enforcement from Australia, France, Germany, and several other countries worked with Europol to seize servers, arrest suspects, and confiscate over €300,000 in cash and crypto. That’s a serious crackdown.

How Did This Impact WOO?

WOO used Sellix.io for payments because, on the surface, it was a reputable platform offering easy crypto and fiat transactions. Unfortunately, it turned out that bad actors were also using the service, and when the FBI took it down, WOO’s ability to process payments vanished overnight.

The key takeaway here? WOO was in no way involved in the illegal activities that led to the takedown. They just happened to use the wrong payment processor at the wrong time.

This is just another bump in the road, but WOO fans know how to weather a storm. As always, the team is actively working to resolve the issue and get sales back on track. Until then, if you’re looking to pre-order a Perry Saturn Starter Deck, don’t forget—manual orders are still open!

Well, that's it for today. We will continue again tomorrow! 😁 WOO! 🎉

Sellix.io was really easy to use for me, and I'm not a dev. It allowed us to take various forms of payment all from one place. We could do various crypto, Cash App, PayPal, Venmo, and fiat all from one location. It also gave us the ability to create coupons for users. That's how we handled bookers' licenses and also the new account creation with join.woo.game, but now that is also down.

It's unfortunate, and even Stripe heavily promoted Sellix on their main page, so it had a good reputation. I guess they, as a company, should have looked into the items being sold through their service, but it is what it is. To be honest, I'm sure Discord shops are places where a lot of potentially harmful pieces of software are also sold, but I'm sure cyber-criminals preferred the ability to accept crypto as a form of payment for the anonymity that it can provide. I find it interesting that they seized crypto. I'm guessing keys were stored on the phones or devices that were seized. It seems pretty unsecure to me if a government agency can just seize your crypto.

Never heard of Sellix but a quick search tells me it's like Ebay but more unregulated?

I don't know about the regulation but I think it's because of the amount of payment options offered! 😜 !PIZZA !LOL !PGM !KING !LUV
