MY SERIES OF NICKNAMES.

Nickname is inescapable. At a certain time in your life you might have been given a nickname, this should be due to the characteristics you possessed at that time,the way you look,your actions, social circles and everything that can attract a nickname to you. Some of us even got a nickname because of the little evil we did back then hahaha...

Most people who were given this nicknames at a certain point had to accept the nicknames as they could not do anything about it, while some get angry and usually try to disregard it all the time because the nickname was not a good one and does not portray a good personalities.

There is a common saying that you reap what you sow. I am the kind of person who would always find someone to give a nickname wherever I find myself, people had known me for that and they always act very careful when they are around me because I can easily use what they did to give them a bloody nickname.

Since I have been used to giving others a bloody and a viral nicknames, I have also received bloody and viral nicknames in return, you see what goes around comes around. I would say from my elementary till my college, I had barely escaped being nicknamed, it was from one to the other, sometimes I would not even hear my name for some weeks that was how worst it was, people who met me newly only knew me by the nickname they were calling that they do not bother to know my real name.

My first nickname was given to me in my elementary school when I was called Okani which means an old man. Although I was very young but they gave me the name because of my stature,they said I looked older than my age. I was also nicknamed Fabiano due to my excessive love for football back then.

It did not end there moving over to my secondary school when I taught it was a fresh start I did not escape. If you are a Nigerian you would remember a dance drama that was trending back then and it was titled Kaki & Leda. Because of my love for this dance drama I was given the name of one character in the movie which was Uncle Robot, and this name was trending all over the school even some of my teachers called me that name.

Another one was also given to me by friends when I engaged in a fight back then in the school. After the fight when I finished dealing with my opponents, then I shouted "I am the God of war". And that was how the name "God of war" was given to me from the movie which was also trending, those names served me through out my secondary school.

Moving over to college, the nickname journey continued. This time around I was given the name of my village. It started when we were freshers in college, everyone was introducing themselves to each other. They are said their names and the state where they came from, and when it was my turn I told them the name of my state and even went as far as even mentioning the name my village. Everyone laughed because the name of my village sounded strange. From that day everyone was calling me the name of my village and as usual it extended and trended.

There are some nicknames there were also given to me but I could not mentioned it because it did not last like this ones I mentioned. Like I reaped what I sowed. Those who gave me this nicknames I made sure they were given the ones worst that was even worst than mine, I had to payback hahaha...

It is unfortunate that sometimes that we had to go on a break from bearing our name all because we were given a nickname, it is just part of life, although sometimes we might not like the name given to us, but we can't change it.
