Weekend Report : Pelacor Mercenary Delighted With New Changes To Ranked Battles.
The cheapest card in the game has had a turbulent start to the Splinterlands game. Pelacor Mercenary hit the scene with great expectations with Chaos Legion. He had it all, A shield , a flying abilit, speed and heal. But things went down hill for the Common Earth tank and he ended up languishing at the end of the Splinterlands market bearly even worth a cent with an oversupply problem, an imbalanced level deficiency, a heal ability that kicked in too late at level 6 and retaliate at level 10. He also had a cocaine habit. But are things finally looking up for the flighty Mercenary since the new ranked battle changes? Let's find out
Pelacor Mercenary is Splinterlands riches to rags story. He had everything going for him but as like young Hollywood stars about to hit the big time , he got buggered in the ass and ended up on the bottom of the scrap heap and at one stage you could not give the bearded muscly hunk with a lovely belt and wings away for nothing. But in an amazing turn of events , the Splinterlands devs are after inadvertently giving the card a new lease of life with an overhaul of ranked battles and being the cheapest card in the game is having its plus's.
Splinterlands changed their ranked battles by taking the summoner limits off their league levels which means you can play in bronze or silver with a level 8 Pelacor Mercenary with heal as long as you have the summoner to go with him. So a flying tank with the heal ability and a shield has alot more skin in the game now. The fact that a user can max out this little fella in gold foil for less than $10 has made him the popular choice for Splinterlands gamers. Pelacor's mana is 7 which makes him not too expensive for a tank as well. All this together is actually making this guy a valued card in the game and this is a surprise to many to see this card gaining a new lease of life where as was thought to be lost.
"I'm bloody delighted with these changes good sir, they are the finest changes in the history of Praetoria." said Pelacor in a jolly yee old voice.
"After a quiet start in Chaos I am back in business and playing regularly"
"I have everything a maiden needs , a good health bar , a shield, I'm nifty , heal which is amazing, retaliate that is underrated and even bloody wings."
"I am really good monster material in this regard."
"And when I watched on over the last year to see some dinosaur called Grund who only had double strike take my throne , I was appalled. And Mycelic Infantry wasn't much better. He was slow as a wet week that guy." "How could these two be my competition?? Good Lord! I should be head and shoulders above them for selection" Disappointed."
Splinterlands introduced Rebellion into the mix and the choice of Earth tanks did not finish Pelacor off. In fact it did him no harm whatsoever.
"Some old gorilla chap called Endless Ape who is a bit of a scavenger introduced himself to me" said Pelacor Mercenary
"He was an ugly old git but no match for these puppies" said Pelacor while he flexed his impressive biceps.
In fact Rebellion coming in did give Pelacor Mecenary some hope as small mana battles with mana 3 mixed element summoners saw Pelacor Mercenary getting the nod before many others because of the bang for his buck with a 7 mana heal flying tank. Then came the biggest announcement with summoner limits and Pelacor Mercenary was back baby.
"It is great to see" said one Splintelands dev.
Pelacor is a gentleman" and it is great that some cards that were terrible before are now great picks after some basic changes to the game." "We always liked Pelacor and he is in our plans so we are delighted that the new players are buying him up for cheap as chips and then playing him. His confidence is increasing and we are even seeing some of the OG's rolling him out for battle. He is back in demand where he should be"
However all is not well in the Earth castle as the beta tanks and the ones who set up Splinterland are going haywire at the changes.
Flesh Golem, Rexxie and Orc Sergent are not happy campers whatsoever and their value as well as Unicorn Mustang is taking a hit from all angles. Pelacor Mercenary must celebrate elsewhere. If the wild cards get wind of this then there will be bad blood here particularly with Rexxie which is now considered the worst card in the game. A noticeable plummet from being the face of the game. But as Pelacor rightly points out . The era of T-Rex's taking over the place are gone as seen in the gradually decrease in the Jurassic Park ratings. The future is flying angels wit nice tool belts that have the heal ability. Those lads in Splinterlands really know what they are doing. Hats off to them.
So for many the new ranked changes are a pain but for Pelacor Mercenary things are looking up. It could not have happened to a nicer fellow.
It's great to see our flying hero getting a comeback. He has always been one of my favourites, even though he was worth less than 0,01 cent!

yeah it's a good card. was always surprised it was so cheap. The new Earth summoners , the goblin in particular is really after helping him
There is a lot to like about double strike from the second spot with reach out rules, grund works nice in this way, even better if he gets a trample hit.
I like Grund combined with Bramble Pixie wih the goblin +2 attack. It is lethal.
its a lot of fire power but they are slow and miss out on piercing. I don't have the bramble pixie the heal would be good though, might get one. do you mean the brownie for the +2 attack, what goblin do you mean? goblin psychic to heal grund?
Sorry Underboss Fabino with +2 attack to grund and pixie with reach and +2 are great. Take the heat off them with Slipstream and have a Triage monster like spirit hoarder or ULOTH DHAMPIR healing him. Bellissimo 😘
