Painting a lake in Forest
Here is another addition to my painting art blogs and today we are painting a walk by the forest inspired by Bob Ross .
So Every week I do a blog that tells all the details and how I painted this miniature painting and this one painting is inspired by Bob Ross .
I'm using 4×6 cartridge sheet as canvas and I taped it with masking tape . The paints used are Acrylic paints and I'm using a fine liner brush a flat brush and a pointed round brush so lets begin.
So we will do wet on wet technique here as Bob Ross teaches I used a thin white coat first and on top of that I added yellow to the middle and teal to the sides with a lil cobalt blue and with a dry flat brush I blended it all into a beautiful sky gradient the pale yellow in the middle and that transitioning into a beautiful blue.
Now we decide our horizon and on top of our horizon we paint some trees with a dry brush . Here I dabbed some triangular tree shapes in maroon color with a dry brush and that just gives the texture of a tree silhouette like the dry bristles act as leaves . Just like Bob Ross says These little branches and leaves were hiding in the brush.
Now we clean the brush and dry it again now we use some bright yellow and dab it randomly on the trees leave the spaces as this will add depth to the trees like those are the inner shaded branches .
You can see the forest peeking out of our canvas now so to make the trees pop more I use a fine liner brush and add some tree trunk and white branches .
For the bottom half of the horizon I wanted this to be like a beautiful lake so I started by first making a path in the middle of the trees with brown color more like a muddy path. And on the bottom half I started adding random black shapes like rocks with black color . Now we need our lake so for that I used cobalt blue mixed with a little green and just painted the rest of the page and with a dry brush I added some white squiggly lines and blended them again so now it looks like ripples over our lake.
Now I added more rocks surrounding this lake just simple black random shapes . I then proceeded to shade all these rocks with slight touches of white making it look grey and random this also acts like a gravel effect .
Now I again added some bushes over the rocks and by the path with the same dry brush technique using dark green first dabbling it adding some lighter green and so the bushes are there.
Here is the final result after removing the tape it absolutely looks stunning and realistic I loved it and what I love is every scene would be different how ever you draw or redraw this again that's the beauty of it.
So that's all for today Thank you for your precious time and support ❤️ Tell me how you liked this painting down below in comments
