What's new with Hive this week?

Hive Fest

The wrap up of Hivefest was this week. While there wasn't anymore live presentations that I know of it was still a time for people of hive to connect with each other and plan face to face. This is one of the most powerful things about these types of events is building trust seeing people face to face and building a connection be it friendship or a new business partner for development.

Splinterlands

Some rather disturbing news came out of Splinterlands with yet another round of layoffs. For the most part it feels like it was more of the non development side of things so your espots, marketing team which I'll admit they where under performing and it could have just simply been because of the bear market and demand being at crazy lows. Not because they were not good at their job. That being said my hopes are the company is now on the right track and hopefully we start to see some value growth WITHIN the game as well and not just the company constantly expanding.

When I look back at things Splinterlands the company seems to have done a whole lot of nothing in the last two years minus a few card and new deck releases. Outside of that we got promised a bunch of stuff like GLG, Tower Defense all of these sponsors and land nada nothing came of any of those in the last two years! That's kind of mind boggling and should have been sending up serious red flags long ago. I admit I feel for it as well because I believed in the company and I still do. But it's going to take some seriously large drastic measures to really turn this into something now. My hopes are they still can.

Goals

$HIVE

Goal: 100,000 Current: 100,106

Yep! You read that right we hit our year end goal and are already crushing it. Now my goal for hive is simply to continue to stack it as fast as possible. I honestly don't think I'll extract any of it until I reach at least 600,000 but really I'd love to be upwards in the millions like some whales. It also depends on price. If hive hits a sweet spot of $2+ I'll have to seriously consider selling at least some of it off.

$LEO

Goal: 150,000 Current: 110,038

Leo is going to set a little on the backburner for me. While I still heavily believe, support, promote, invest and help the team a lot over the last two years I will continue to do so but it wont be as high of a priority for myself until I start to see a few things take place which we as investors have been asking for, for a long time now.

$SPS Splinterlands

I still believe in splinterlands and I'll still keep stacking. If anything now is never a better time for me to stack towards my SPS goals and hit that 1 million. As the price has now fallen to just $0.014 it would only cost me $7,000 to reach my goal which is mind boggling compared to what it would have cost just a year ago! This is also more of a back burner now as well. I'll keep stacking because I have nothing to lose and only to gain here but I simply can't dump huge time commitments into something that's a bit of a unknown at the moment. Of course I'll do what I can to help the company and ecosystem but in this case and the other the company needs to meet or beat me half way which I'm just not seeing yet.

Other News

In other news now that we are starting to crush some long term goals I had it's now time to start growing and building. The next thing on the list is to start stacking BEE tokens so if I do need or want to launch my own token I can do so. I'm not sure if I ever will but I'd like to have enough in storage that it would be possible to pull the trigger right away instead of having a stop gap. Things like this are what I'll be building over the next few months to pave the way for major actions in 2024.
