Each week I like to mainly talk about what's new with the Hive blockchain for that week. Some weeks are currently lighter than others due to development and of course the general price point of the market often plays a major factor as to how much is happening.

What's New With Hive

The price of hive has been on the struggle bus for a while however it has done a rather good job of being somewhat steady in the $0.30 - $0.35 price range for the last few months with a peak close to $0.50 during the biggest bull market.

Now personally as a investor this worries me a bit because the major price action of bitcoin has not pushed us towards the highs we had at this price point of bitcoin in the last bull run. At this point we where holding above $1 rather steady now we struggle to even get to half of that. That shows me there's simply not enough demand for the token, not enough users and not enough applications. To me hive is losing it's flare and there's far too much sell pressure in terms of the DHF in my opinion.

New Launches

Tomorrow we are actully getting a new game launch of Hive!

That gaming being Rise Of The Pixels which I have to say the design does look solid and the game play decent. I've only tested the beta a little bit myself mainly waiting for the main game launch before I really start digging into it but I would say it's worth checking out and grabbing up a pack or two for some fun gaming.

Splinterlands

Splinterlands has always had a major push in terms of hive adoption. However the company and the game have been struggling for the last two years and I would even stay stuggling in a big way during this major bull market we have. So the thought that the bull market was some how going to pull us out of this mess I feel was yet another bad businesses decision.

I think there's major issues with Splinterlands that are slowly being worked on and fixed however I'm not exactly sure it will ever return to it's former glory unless there's some big hyped up changes to the system which to be honest I just don't see happening.

That being said I do think the game will do ok and survive but to return to the values we once had I believe is now slim to none chance.

Arcade Colony

One thing I've noticed about the company behind all of this is that they do like to talk a lot and deliver on a very delayed time table. It's something I often see companies do and it's damaging over time as it breaks their trust with their customer.

Things like launching land 2.0 soon in Splinterlands is now 5 months old and we are still on land 1.5 with no real movement there at all. Well same goes for this split off platform called Arcade Colony which was suppose to have a game released called moon kart. They did a ton of marketing for it about two months ago and yet there's not released game yet.

However they did say they are in final works of getting the game ready and also at the point where any web2 game could integrate itself into web3. There's a good amount of potential here as we have seen with platforms like this such as Gala. However the competition is for sure heating up as there's many platforms now doing this.

My hopes are they hit the ground running over the next two months and we see some good progress here. As a successful game in one area should also bring people into others. For example if moon karts explodes and 100,000 people play even if just 10% made their way over to Splinterlands via the soft marketing they do on these other front ends that would be another 10,000 players which would in fact have a positive effect on everything.
