A New HIve Milestone Reaches 100k HIVE Powered Up!

I thought it would be cool and interesting to do a hive specific post today. A short background, where I am today and my future plans here on the hive blockchain.

The big news is I hit my goal of hitting 100,000 $HIVE powered up has as of today become a reality. Sure this might still be small compared to some of the whales around here but a vast majority of what I have came from trades, selling, buying and investing.

*Current delegation you see now is being removed. While a bit is kept towards LEO however for the most part I'm going to be keeping it all and doing curation. I'm also seriously considering a 2nd account that would store all my LEO and use that account for votes with LEO that way I can fully maximize my hive power in a more efficient way.

How It All Started

Back in 2017 I got involved with Steem and at first it felt more like the old school article marketing sites I used to use for marketing back in the day. However in this case you earned crypto!

I got heavily involved into Splinterlands back then as well in the Alpha stages and then bought in on the kickstarter for the Beta cards in which I was able to help pick out a name and style for this summoner Valnamor

Of which yes I still have the gold foil of which are very few and far between left of this card. In fact during the last bull run it was going for a ton of money which maybe I should have sold it but oh well lol. Take into account DEC was WAY over peg at the time as well so I would of had to have converted it into a stable coin in order to really hold the value and chances of me doing that then were slim at best. Just imagine if I would have dumped it all into HBD and earned 20% APR I'd be living on about 300+HBD per day. Ah hindsight is always a **** lol *As a quick note though about Splinterlands and the recent drama on that I have to say I'm more confident in the game now compared to the last year but it's going to take the team and everything a good few months or a good year to snap out of it and start getting things right which I believe they can do.

From there drama hit and Steem came crashing down with the aggressive take over. At the time I was primarily focused on work my own business but also for a startup I was working with. At this time I wrote it off as a loss and just another failed project/investment. I didn't get into all the politics of it all and honest I didn't really even know hive existed. I didn't understand it at the time nor did I want to invest the time into understanding it.

It wasn't until Splinterlands starting making a lot of noise that it was on the Hive blockchain that I really started to take part in it again. Then two and a half years ago I started to heavily get involved. Primary focus was LEO and for the most part still is but HIVE itself is starting to take a larger priority as I roll into 2024.

From there I got into SPK and 3speak of which I really want to run a node for or encode for so that's on the list of soons.

Where I'm Currently At

Now that I hit 100k hive I'm making a shift towards a higher focus on hive itself by investment and building. The 100k hive allows me to delegate to projects but mainly the focus now is to help and build applications on the hive blockchain while rapidly advancing the amount of hive I have. 100k seems like a lot but in order to really start hitting things hard around here 250k is more of a level if not 500k+ to get into whale status.

I believe with continued work now and working with applications to onboard, build and grow the hive ecosystem we can truly create wealth and a place for all to enjoy and earn from. It's one of the primary reasons I'm focused on Leo right now for the ad buyback program that I hope we will see sooner rather than later. It's one of the single entry points of capital INTO hive and not constantly exiting it.

The Future

Above I covered a bit on the future but I also want to focus down a little more. I believe two key areas I'll focus on for this year will be helping Splinterlands get to good status again. I firmly believe the company was over expending and over inflating for way too long and just got all caught up in the bull cycle and never corrected once we got into the bear. A mistake for sure but one I believe now has been realized and is being corrected. As for token goals here my plan is 1 million SPS and enough DEC in liquidity pools for land. While others are exiting out I'm instead doubling down. The sheer value Splinterlands has brought to the hive blockchain and could still continue to bring are still there they just need a little help from the community now.

The other core focus will be LEO in which the next primary goal there is 150k LEO at least in order to get the top tier level. Out of all of the dapps currently this has to be the one I believe in the most at the moment.

Overall I think this is just the start for some great things on the Hive blockchain. But we as a community need to be smart as to where we use DHF funds as right now I believe we need more application development over anything else. Build the applications people want to use and they will promote themselves through the users. No market budgets needed just sheer good quality applications and we saw this through Splinterlands in the last bull run.
